Giving women women social/political power equal to men is a sure-fire recipe for disaster that no civilization can withstand for very long. This chick thinks its her business what song a bar plays!! No respect or even conception of liberty, individual rights or the fact that the world doesn't revolve around her. "Justice" (i.e. what gives her good feelings/bolsters her ego) is the only thing that matters. This is just a minor example, but it's emblematic of the kind of controlling, authoritarian influence that women invariably represent. She's not a crazy exception but, rather, typifies what happens when women, via their mangina enablers, are allowed to run wild.

Had this been a religious/right wing group demanding a ban, the college newspaper would have no sympathy. Beyond that, this is attention whoring. No one is really that affected by a song. And if she is, she's not the "brave woman" they make her out to be, but a spineless controlling coward.

If it's your right to get a DJ (and bar) to stop playing a tune because you're offended that it's "rapey," then someone else has the right to make them stop playing songs that offend them because those songs are gay, or gangsta, or anti-Christian.

One person's offense does not take precedence over another's. If she has the right to do this, she's opened the door for the religious right to do it too. How can she and her friends not see that?
