Exercise bulimia is a subset of the psychological disorder called bulimia in which a person is compelled to exercise in an effort aimed at burning the calories of food energy and fat reserves to an excessive level that negatively affects their health.

The damage normally occurs through not giving the body adequate rest for athletic recovery compared to their exercise levels, leading to increasing levels of disrepair. If the person eats a normally healthy and adequate diet but exercises in levels they know require higher levels of nutrition, this can also be seen as a form of anorexia.

Exercise Bulimia can sometimes go unnoticed because exercise is something that is seen as healthy but just because a person looks healthy does not mean they are. Compulsive exercisers will often schedule their lives around exercise just as those with eating disorders schedule their lives around eating (or not eating). Other indications of compulsive exercise are

Missing work, parties, school, and other important events in order to work out
Working out with an injury or while sick
Becoming unusually depressed if unable to exercise
Working out for hours at a time each day
Not taking any rest or recovery days
Defining self-worth in terms of performance
Justifies excessive behavior by defining self as a "special" elite athlete
Depression or agitation when unable to work out
Amenorrhea, the stop of a woman's menstrual cycle
Isolation from others while working out




Gentlemen, if you don't think there's a war against what we stand for, get your head out of the sand.

It's not a DISORDER to be disciplined in your workouts.

I had the chance to visit a mental hospital once. The anorexic girls there looked like inmates of concentration camps. They are not allowed to do sport, because they do it excessively to burn any calories they ate that day. They start running in their rooms "in secret" to avoid getting caught doing sports.
I think this is what you are talking about. Though, I think including "looking normal and healthy" is a exaggerated definition in this article.

I think you are seeing ghosts man. This is a real issue and some people do, in fact, suffer from this. You have to read the conditions closely. The subject must be compulsive. They must want to reach unhealthy levels of perceived "fitness". For men there isn't really such a thing (well, below 6% bf it seems your immune system starts to get weaker but OK, nobody is gonna reach that anyway without steroids) and for women it is a lot higher where they start to get unhealthy.

So yes, people who exercise too much do need help when it interferes with their ability to function as normal human beings in the day to day.

That said, I don't know what you are talking about. Most people admire fit people (both men and women) and dislike unfit ones. It's just a very vocal minority of stupid fatties that has you believing there is some sort of "war against what we stand for". No, there is no war. 90% if not more of the people still prefer fit bodies to unfit ones. And the ones that don't are fat themselves anyway, so who cares what they think?

Certainly, the definitions in the article McQueen cites are exaggerated. But these creatures do exist.

My friends and I coined a name for this long ago -- the stairmaster hag (it's a hag no matter what her actual age).

You see these grim-faced creatures on their aerobic device of choice: they are always there, no matter what time you go to the gym. They have the thousand-yard stare and are working their torture machine very hard, driven by an unquenchable hatred for the world. They are almost invariably white, occasionally Americanized Asian. Their bodies have been robbed of the last ounce of estrogen-producing fat and are dismal collections of gristled bone and muscle.

Bitches these days can and do fuck themselves over by both being too fat and too thin. They either stuff themselves like mutant hogs, or dry-age their flesh on the stairmaster. It makes one long for a naturally slim, shapely, and estrogenized female body, ruined by neither nights of boozing and gobbling nor mornings of excessive and joyless exercise.

These types of girls have been shamed out of the gyms. They all are underground. Its so obvious whom they are because they look rail thin and sick as fuck and go on the elliptical like a road-runner. I would assume they get approached and shamed by other women in the locker-room. Evrey gym has a troupe of nosey fitness bitches whom are in great shape but talk to much, they would be the first to say some snarky shit on how those girls look like rusty coat racks and like shit.

You typically see these girls walk and jog alone with the 3 hoodies on and sunglasses, all low-impact shit, or underground. Plus when you see them all hooded up with the shades on, they look exactly like they are, crazy. But this isn't some emerging trend or anything, as it is the fatties that are the emerging trend and they will lash at anybody whom reminds them how slovenly and gross they are.

Exercise Bulimia is a top end extreme. The body can only take so much stress. You do high intensity cardio and get 100 calories in you a day and loosing weight will be the last of your worries. Cramps from lack of potassium and salts, spasms, complete pain and feeling like shit. This is why the crazy anorexic girls do less taxing stuff like walk as its not as stressful on the body, plus they learn by trail and error that the more stress you put on the body the more water and weight it desperately holds on to.

This article is attacking normal people. There are camps whom are obsessed with the gym, yes. But this article isn't framed like that. Read the lines and the words carefully, its shaming people whom have active gym routines.

"Exercise bulimia" is just scorn fatties and former anorexic coat racks whom think of new trends to type about on blogs for attention.

Further -- as I've mentioned before, I think the Japanese and their geishas have always had it right when it comes to the lifestyle that maximizes female sexual appeal over the course of a life:

-- A quite light, almost entirely vegetarian diet
-- Very little sun exposure to keep the skin smooth and unwrinkled
-- Early to bed, early to rise
-- Fucking and sucking often and vigorously as the principal and perhaps only form of exercise (other than walking around and doing chores like cooking and housecleaning).

A women shouldn't be doing much in her most fertile years. This is why modern women in the west look like shit because they are too stressed from trying to be 'one of the guys'.

Just chill and have kids, raise them. You will help do minor stuff and tasks that are not to taxing but still important to big picture. Women whine that mopping floors was oppression but they quietly pop pills and down alarming amounts of alcohol to soothe the fact they are now wage salves just like men. Most don't know anything better so they have nothing to reference it too but its obvious a "mans life" isn't hacked out for them. There was never any shame in living a "Woman's life".

Whores have a extreme view of this because their livelihood relies on looks and youth. My guess is the Giesha does not internalize her profession the same way a whore in the West does. A whore in the west self-combusts because women can't handle romps and random sperm with no security/commitment in it all. Money, even at a inflated and high level of compensation isn't enough because still the women has to taken on greater responsibilities to handle that money. Most whores end up broke and shit for this reason, even though many clear six-figures a year in cash.

Whores always used to be taken under the wing of somebody and protected and cared for. That sounds beta in todays time but I guess it was the only way you kept them sane.
