Am researching where to stay for an extended stay, i.e. 3 to 4 weeks, in Jakarta or Manila. There are some very nice, high end place, where the landlord rents out all the rooms he has in a place separately, i.e it's a small townhouse. So one could rent a room in a house for the same price one would pay for an apartment, and get something with a lot bigger 'wow' factor, that has it's own pool, etc etc. The flip side is that one would need to keep shenanigans in check somewhat. One landlord in the 'house rules' section actually requests proof of marriage for couples travelling together - probably not the best one to choose..
