NHL Playoffs
Pretty straight-forward.

Anyone else here in the States or elsewhere find playoff hockey to be some of the most intense sporting events on TV? My team did not qualify, to say the least. But I really enjoy watching it April-June every year.

Anyone have predictions?
I think I'd take the San Jose Sharks to win it all this year.

watching the Montreal - Tampa game now. 4-4 in OT pretty much been end to end type action from the 2nd period onward man I love playoff hockey!

I think Boston wins it all but LA could do it too.

But on the plus side my other 2 teams are San Jose and Los Angeles, so there's some potential this year.

Try being from Edmonton...

Not sure who I'll watch, but watching Selanne's last run with Anaheim should be fun.

RE: NHL Playoffs
I'd like to say Chicago would take it, but I think the Kings might win it again with stifling defence + with the addition of Gaborik some offence will be there. I predict the Kings coming out of the west facing Boston in the final... with Boston winning the cup

No surprise seeing all the canadian flags next to the usernames posting in this thread Laugh
It was difficult for me to pick the Kings to exit first round, but I think the Sharks, this year, are that good.

RE: NHL Playoffs
This is going to be a fun playoffs.

Prediction (aka dream scenario):

A Chicago vs. Montreal final that is chippy both on and off the ice. Habs fans boo The Star Spangled Banner in Game Three. Unlike "classy" Boston in 2004 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TxpxFqAV4I Hawks fans do the same in Game 5 and beyond despite PC-encouragement from Canadian and American leaders, media-types... even the players themselves.

The series goes to a game 7 in Chicago. The Habs take a 2-0 lead going into the third, but the Hawks come back to win 3-2 and avenge the 1971 loss.

PS Nothing but love for Canadians - Anglo and Francophone - but give me my spectator sports with a dash of hatred. American Popcorn 2

RE: NHL Playoffs
My Flyers never match up well against the Rangers, but I'm hoping to be wrong.

Regardless, Boston will steamroll the Eastern Conference on the way to the finals and San Jose will take the west. Bruins win another cup in 5 against San Jose.

Can we get some kind of pool going for this?

Haha. Not from Edmonton, but a big Oilers fan.

They should probably get rid of Dallas Eakins who is a horrible NHL coach. It's not like management (screwed entity in itself) can bring in Eakins "type" players because he has no system to begin with.

Oilers weren't great last season either, but they showed progress & were a little more fun to watch with Ralph Krueger who needed more time.
