Hello,

Recently I heard about jimmycap.it (or is it now jimmycapit.com) from RoK. I thought that this is cool. I did some more research and this business model has been applied in a number ways.

I have something that I can try myself, but I'm not sure what the best way to get going with this. I have a domain registered and would like to sell this online. How would one go about starting a business like this?

Right now I'm just going about this in a sort of blind manner (I expect to make a number of mis-steps along the way.) My main questions are thus:
- How does a subscription business model operate? Does one re-sell the product? Does one create a special arrangement with the manufacturer of the product? Some sort of contract?
- How would marketing work online? I have some ideas of buying advertising online where potential customers drop-by, but I still know very little about this.
- What software/tools would one use to manage orders, subscriptions and inventory?

I'm going to try this for 6 months and see what happens.

You are asking a lot of beginner questions here on a wide number of subjects. Each of your questions are field in which people specialize for many years to be successful and subject to thousands of books and blogs. It would be impossible to give answers to such broad questions, but I will try to give you some keywords to research further:

Webshop -> Stock purchased in bulk or dropshipping -> Stock and Order fulfillment software -> Credit card processor/Payment Gateway/Payment service provider-> Merchant Bank Account

SEO, Affiliate marketing, media buys, banner ad buys, PPC, social media campaigns, viral advertising, guerilla marketing

Ecommerce software (Shopify, Woocommerce, Magento, OS Commerce + others)
Payment Service Providers (Paypal etc)
Payment Gateway (Authorize.net, Worldpay etc)
Merchant Account (any major bank)

To get setup quickly go to Shopify.com and use Paypal.com, to source products go to Alibaba.com.
