Guys, there really is nothing new going on here. These "lesbians" were simply called "spinsters" 50-100 years ago. They are girls who are too ugly/overweight/crazy to secure the attention of a decent guy so they pair up and hang out, forming a faux family. Now that there is no such thing as shame or restraint in our culture they declare themselves "lesbians" because it is the trendy thing to do. They receive bonus attention for being so strong, brave and anti-patriarchal. If a decent guy expressed interest they would probably revert to their normal heterosexual selves and live happily ever after. Oh, I have consistently observed that girls who dye their hair outrageous colors(blue, pink, neon green) are without exception nuts. I really think that the bottom tier of guys who would normally date or marry these girls is now completely immersed in porn/video games. Just another way that feminism and a culture without any kind of shame really hurts girls at the lower end of the looks specturm.

In earlier times, when many young, eligible men died at sea or in wars or on the job, there weren't always enough husbands to go around. Less desirable, or just unlucky, women were left alone and sometimes ended up living together. I'm sure physical intimacy of some sort or another was common, though they weren't necessarily "lesbians" by the modern definition.

While there isn't a shortage of single men these days, an increasing percentage are socially-averse incel porn addicts (or otherwise not ready or willing to engage in long-term bonding.) In addition, even rock bottom-SMV women these days have ridiculously inflated ideas about what they "deserve" in a partner.

The difference between traditional spinsters and today's variety is that cultural marxism encourages them to flaunt and aggrandize their unfortunate position.

Having one mother is already insane (I'm going to speak on behalf of most Jews on this point).

True, but I suspect situations like the father died or left and then the mother lived with a single friend or friends who helped raise the kid happened occasionally.
