I've been thinking about this for a while.

Essentially, my idea is to start a magazine about tourism with the extra portion of sex & romance. A "Naughty Planet" to a Lonely Planet if you will.

It will probably be difficult to avoid getting seen as a 'sex tourism' publication, but the magazine should have a strong emphasis on never paying for hookers. It's really just tourism with sex & romance and I think that there's nothing bad about it - most guys (perhaps even gals) would be interested in some foreign talent when they visit a foreign country. It's part of the 'tourist attractions', just like savoring the local food.

The magazine would feature:
* A special on an exotic location (such as Medellin or Manila etc), with information & stories about the place (akin to our datasheets)
* Lay reports - I consider this the 'literotica' for men, many of them are entertaining to read and hell, even educational, since you learn what worked for the guy in laying the girl
* Red Pill Section - Stories and info that re-emphasize that girls are not the angels most guys see in them. One dude here leaked some stuff that a girl was typing on her phone (that was never intended for male eyes to see), another dude wrote about how the girl was getting a call from her boyfriend during sex and telling him that she was out buying bread. Those are perfect examples.
* And more!

It obviously needs dedication to bring out a magazine, but I'm seriously considering this. There isn't a single magazine out there about pick-up & game. I feel it's an underserved market.

Some guys might feel that it would give the scene too much attention or that hordes of magazine readers would descend on Bangkok and prey on our girls, but I doubt that readers would really act on it. Most would probably just read it for entertainment value. Many trip reports on this forum are great reads and deserve a wider audience.

Whadda you guys think?

Good idea in getting some 'fieldwork' in by asking a forum that pretty much specializes in this type of writing before going forward.

I could not in good judgement encourage you to pursue this idea, for many reasons. One bacon above pointed out… print magazines are dead. Two, you'll be hard-pressed to find men (or women) who would pay for a monthly subscription when they can get this data for free either in this very forum or elsewhere.

A good series of non-leading questions that you should ask in your fieldwork when interviewing potential subscribers is how they go about planning vacations. How do they decide on a place? But most importantly… how often do you plan vacations and/or travel? What information do you need for planning the vacation, and what format best suits those needs? Would a print magazine detailing locations you very likely won't go to, or google be more practical?

Who is your target market? How big is it? Are they willing to part with their money for a magazine purely for entertainment value?

Quality control (with regards to writing and design) could be an important issue, since this is what will separate you from the masses. You CAN try and go the Cracked route, but that's a bit more elaborate, as they have a thorough screening process that would necessitate a bigger investment and sound business idea. With this route you'd have to employ editors with serious writing skills, while mining stories/ideas from regular folks for $100 a pop. That's why I'd recommend the ROK route… find writers/columnists who are willing to contribute essentially for free. Your quality control may take a hit.

If you're deadset on this idea, online would be best. Decide on what strategy you think would be most successful. Are you really dong this for money, or as a hobby? If you're really going to do this for $$$, you'll need a thorough editing process to up the quality, which of course will require an investment.

Plan everything out, and throw it up on kickstarter. That can help you gauge how into the idea the general public would be.

I did a quick google search because all i could think was: Who the fuck buys magazines these days?!

What I was about to say. Magazines don't sell that well unless they're being sold in an airport. Then again, you'd probably end up maiking a website with subscriber access. You'd need a lot of writers to write for you if you want a magazine and not a newsletter.

Great idea, but you're going to need to plan it out really well. I'd subscribe if its good.

Travel sex life and swoop the world are currently doing this. There was a guy doing a video version.

There are plenty of adventurer travel sites, and travel party sites.

If you want to make out a success, you have to market better than everyone else. (nothing has to actually be better though)
