This Is The Article That The New York Times Sees Fit To Publish For Mother's Day
"Please, Mother, Enough"
It is a translation of a piece by some Japanese "writer" bitch who whines about how long her mother lived and how she spent years wishing her mother would finally die.
Then she wrote a "novel" about it and got passionate responses from other Japanese confessing to how they too have wished that their parents who seemed to live forever would finally croak.
In the beginning of the article this fucking bitch describes how her mother had the temerity to be in the hospital while she was trying to finish some worthless "book" by some meaningless "deadline". For real.
Quote:TOKYO — It was the mad, busy time just before New Year’s, the most auspicious holiday of the year, when the hospital called to tell me that my mother had just been brought in by ambulance. She had slipped on the sidewalk and broken her shoulder and hip.
“Not again!” was all I could think as I rushed to the emergency room. I did not at first realize that the call marked the beginning of the end of what little independence my mother had left.
Despite five hours of surgery and two months of rehabilitation, she became wheelchair-bound and had to enter a nursing home. There, she slid rapidly into dementia, and became more difficult and demanding even as she grew frailer.
A year and a half later, she was back in the hospital with aspiration pneumonia. Day after day, I sat by her bedside, exhausted, while I struggled to finish work on a book for which the deadline was long past.
“Mom, when are you ever going to die?”
I get angry about as often as cardguy, but this angered me.
These people -- the baby boomers -- have the easiest, most luxurious, and most comfortable lives of any generation that's ever lived.
And all they ever do is WHINE about the very few burdens that they actually have. And they are so cowardly and so afraid of "pain" that they are obsessed above all with their coming old age and the loss of some bodily comforts. And they are so idiotically nihilistic that they always wish to hasten death just because the end of life is relatively difficult and painful.
And the fucking scumbags in the New York Times feel that it is their place and obligation to publish this ghoulish drivel in time for Mother's Day, so that the "truths" that they believe are contained therein would not be forgotten for one moment as normal people get together with their families and try to enjoy a beautiful spring day.
same old shit, sixes and sevens Shaft...

Any PR is good PR...especially for a dying medium. This is just the print version of clickbait.
Too little, too late NYT.
When are you ever going to die?
"Okay (and I'm laughing now, because this is so funny), so we're A) not supposed to give you flowers, B) pay you compliments, or C) look at you. Anything else? Because I'm struggling to figure out the reason why after hearing that, I'm feeling like I'd rather get fucked in the ass by a Cape Buffalo than ever have to sit through dinner with you. Maybe you can figure it out for me. When you do, let me know. I'll be at Natasha's house."

And in the same vein…
Quote:Monogamy Envy: Why do supposedly brave reconsiderations of a cherished notion sound so trite?
By James Lileks
With Mother’s Day nigh, you brace yourself for pieces in Slate and Salon along the lines of “To Hell with Motherhood: The Case for a Holiday to Celebrate the Real Victims of Kermit Gosnell, His Underpaid Staff” or “I’m Sick of Pretending I Love My Child.” Since no one’s written it yet, I’m reduced to imagining how they’ll sound:
Was I the only one who watched The Da Vinci Code hoping the secret message about Christianity was that some Roman version of Hallmark made up Jesus to sell greeting cards? I’m certainly not alone in regarding Valentine’s Day as a manufactured excuse to underscore historical gender norms with a little kiddie porn thrown in (really, what’s with all the naked babies with wings and bows and arrows?), but I know I’m probably in the minority when it comes to Mother’s Day. Hate it.
And so on with the brave, fearless reconsideration of all our cherished notions. One of these days someone will write “My mom hit me with a baseball and I threw up apple pie on the flag” and they’ll close up the sites, having said it all.
Until these pieces are posted, let’s amuse ourselves with The New Republic, where an author wrote “It’s Time to Ditch Monogamy.” A piece from the archives of 1970? No, bold new thinking, spurred by Cameron Diaz’s insights on the superiority of drifting from one chap to the next. Monogamy doesn’t work for Diaz, or the author of the piece, so Ditching must begin. It’s not enough to say, “I just can’t imagine sticking with one person the rest of my life. I foresee a series of satisfying relationships of varying duration and intensity, after which I retire to Nice and become known in the neighborhood as the iconoclastic woman who turned to pottery at the age of 74.” No, you have to decide that everyone should rethink the idea of faithfulness…

I don't have a dog in the fight for or against monogamy, but it just seems a lot of women hit middle age with a string of failed relationships behind them, and the Hamster comes along to tell her, "It's allright, everything you've done is right and natural.
From the comments:
Quote:The fairytale here is that a woman's ability to command men into "satisfying relationships" after they have slept with dozens of men persists much beyond their early 30s. In fact, a la Maureen Dowd, women become sexually invisible to men at this time, and if they haven't managed to snag one and hold on to him by being a good wife, find that they're lonely and the guys their age (40s-50s) can still pull good looking, fine women in their 20s and 30s. Even in their 60s they dip into 40s etc. The gap is enormous. And the loneliness and ripoff of female "sexual liberation" is palpable. Also, let's keep it real conservatives; marriage also exists to tame the shiny object, attention deficit, ego pumping worst instincts of men. It's nto men, after all, who initiate 2/3 of divorces.

^^^
I'm enjoying the schadenfreude of this cunt being fired too.
They say part of her problem was her controlling and abrasive management style.
Quote:Only nine months ago, Sulzberger invited Newsweek to breakfast with chief executive Thompson in order to show conspicuous support for Abramson, who had been the subject of a negative story in Politico that asserted that her editorship was already a failure, and that her abrasive manner had alienated so many Times employees that she was “on the verge of losing the support of the newsroom.”
Let me translate the above quote from corporate-speak to English. She was a ball cutting cunt that no one could stand including other women.
I have a theory about female leadership which I wrote about here that helps explain that.
Tuth also has some good insights on female "leadership."
Quote:Tuth:Worst still is the pant-suit-wearing, “Lean In,” you-go-girl, make-believe-I’m-a-man-style leadership that’s being encouraged by today’s popular media. These women, failing to understand the true nature of male leadership, attempt to replicate masculine poise, but end up with little more than aggressive power-tripping. They become plain-and-simple bullies who, rather than commanding respect, command nothing but hate and fear. Both male and female employees, in turn, work to keep their jobs rather to improve the company bottom-line or help their co-workers. Innovation turns into self-preservation.
Take care of those titties for me.
