So let me set the context

My soon-to-be-ex-girlfriend ( yeah, right) just got into a car accident.
She just had gotten her license, and was practising driving. She was coming back to the house, when she ran into a barrier, and her car did a backflip, ending being completely destroyed in the process.
She is fine , some injuries but nothing really serious.
So right after she came back in a cab she pretty much ordered me to get all the stuff she had ( what she saved from the car+ her items) to the room, to the 5th floor. When i gave her just an innocent remark she went into complaining mode, claiming I was heartless, that she should go to her "best friend" , crying,etc.
I will save you the details. I took care of her, massaged her, cuddled, etc etc.
Actually, she took some selfies of her when she was rescued by the firemen, her car, some of her wounds, called many friends and family members to announce the great news.
That stream of news feeding continued today. She even said she would upload the pics of the broken car to Facebook. She said proudly to her friends that she took selfies of this.
Whereas yesterday she was crying during the night from pain, clearly traumatized. She even made me stay hours awoken, because she could not sleep and needed to cuddle ( WAS this beta?)

The problem is that in general she is quite a sweet person. While she is only a 6 ( yeah I am not a player yet) , she is feminine, maybe a bit chubby but she is nice, a bit of a feminist but like every girl describes herself ( the equal pay, not submission BS etc) . I would never have expected someone who was that near death attention whore so much.


Verdict: no matter how your woman is, she will always attention whore.

In general I agree about women being attention whores, but some women in patricular have a thing for playing "victim". They will even come down with illness all the time in order to solicit care from others. In this case she didn't get unconciously get sick, she rolled her car, but the MO has that familiar "make the world care for me" ring to it.

Maybe not, but watch out for those victim girls nonetheless.

Were she not to take all those retarded selfies and profess she will post them on social media, I would say no she's not an attention whore, she was just letting those she cared about what happened. However... she decides to take pictures and make it known to her (probably 600+, 90% of whom could give two shits) followers what happened. This just pisses me off, and is a main reason as to why I deleted Facebook, because I do not want to validate all of this attention whoring let alone see it.

One of my buddies put it best the other day after slamming his phone to the table "Goddamnit, is every girl a fucking fitness model nowadays?!"

If you give a woman any reason to get attention she will jump all over it, from posting accident selfies so her friends can ask if shes okay to getting an engagement ring and suddenly becoming left handed, none of this surprises me, their natural insecure disposition requires external validation from masses of people.

Women can't even do a simple job now without trying to steal the spotlight. And don't tell me how "she's just doing her job." No way. This goes way beyond doing the job. She's attention whoring.

Sign language interpreters are supposed to be low-key and almost invisible. This dunce is out there hogging the spotlight, and then trying to claim that she was doing it for higher purposes.

As expected.

She's definitely milking it for all it's worth.

Had a similar experience with a girl who was my main at the time

First off, the mechanic had warned her not to drive the car because it needed new bearings and a front tire rod. Also, the day before the check engine light popped on. Having had a tire rod split on me before, I offered her a ride to work

Being stubborn, and against all advice she drove it to work anyway. On her way home, she pulls over to grab some Burger King and sees fire and black smoke coming from under the hood. Luckily - it was across from a Shell station so some guy came running with a fire extinguisher to put out the flames

Of course, she had to proudly announce her "ordeal" aka brush with death to anyone who would listen on FB

Instead of learning her lesson about driving a faulty vehicle, she thanks her hunger pangs for craving a burger forcing her to pull over in the 1st place. Being the asshole that I am, I jokingly tell her had she stuck to her gluten-free diet, none of this would have happened

Not quite the best example of attention whoring. Facial expressions and postures like these are actually part of sign language and its grammar, and that's exactly how deaf people communicate with each other. I've had sign language interpreters just like her, both male and female, in places like classrooms, conventions, work meetings, you name it. Some just as, if not more expressive than she is.

I'll grant that sign language interpreters are not supposed to steal the show like she did, but I don't think she realized she was doing it at the time. In a situation like superstorm Sandy, the tone is supposed to be serious and somber, and the interpreter is supposed to reflect that. So rather than intentionally attention whoring, I think she was just tone deaf. A lot of interpreters are.

A better example of attention whoring would be that girl who carries around the mattress she was allegedly raped on, or in less extreme cases, taking selfies to see how many likes she can get.

But I digress.
