Not many people can say that they saved someone's life. He'll get a nice bump in popularity and status in school, and since he probably has only one more year it should last until he graduates. Hopefully her friendship lasts that long as well.

Well, if you consider getting pussy as your "payment", the price is extraordinarily high. Pussy is so easy to get nowadays anyway, but the feeling of being honorable and saving someones life is once in a lifetime.

Besides, it pays off for the average person. If people in the past didnt white knight, your female ancestor might not have lived, and consequently, you wouldnt exist. It doesnt really pay off individually, but that doesnt mean doing it doesnt pay.
