I've read all of Roosh's books and been part of multiple review threads. As I read, I makes notes on things to I can come back to them later
Overall. I didn't like this books as much.
This review might even come off as one of those feminist hater reviews, but so be it.
For a person that is newer to the game. They probably will not understand the book in the same frame that other more experience people will.
Unless you have been around the blog or forum for a while. I doubt the average person will catch the little nuances or humor of the book.
Roosh's style is extremely dry..while it has gotten much better.I think it peaked around the time of
30 Bangs and hasn't been as impressive since
I will admit. The book has great exerts that show practical examples of things that you will have read in Bang and Day Bang.
Those are much appreciate...But every books shows those tidbits.
To the long term followers..its nothing new....and to the new followers..its new.. but if they haven't grasped all of Bang and Day Bang. These won't be life changing hints.
But clearly that isn't what the book is about.
Its more of a memoir of Roosh's events in Romania...and a book that delves into the head.
He does a good job of diving into the scientific mind of himself.. and thats where I begin to see problems.
Roosh either has lived the nomadic lifestyle so often that now he doesnt know how to give it up. Or he simply refuses to give it up for whatever reasons.
The book starts in telling how he ended up in Romania and going on TV and doing interviews finding clubs to post up in and such.
Clearly...he has grown to hate this..He battles between wanting fame...and hating what comes of it.
There is no doubt that Roosh has the ability to come into an environment and get laid. But at what cost? What is the actual goal.
Has Roosh has been jaded so much by the game than he is torn between between some primal emotion and affection.
The book outlines how he shows just enough affection to get the girl...but I feel like this is just part of the act.
Because time and time again he seems to get bored with the girl or leave her for another or leave the country entirely.
There is no stability...just ups and downs.
Part of the book mentions one girl saying how she found [[spoiler]].
At the same time...Roosh doesnt hold back the coldness in his writing about the very same women.
Maybe none of these women can fathom that they are just caught by the act of the game too.
The further into the book I read, the more I can't help to see Roosh as a person that isn't happy and never will be happy.
..to me..What is the point of the journey if there is never an end.
At the same time...if you simply are simply in it for the journey..why does the journey not satisfy you.
The book seems to show Roosh's struggles in finding something he likes but then throwing it away for to try again
He says he doesn't really care to make male friends or woman friends.
In one instance, he says he would rather chase women than stick around with a male friend.
again..I see this as a lack of stability and/or joy in the company of other people
He runs the same experiments time and time again...only instead of hoping for different results.. he knows the result..but continues to run the experiment thinking something different will happen.
Some times says he is jealous of there others who receive the same results as he did...only they didn't put in years of travel experience, readings books, learning languages and going to the gym
In an odd conclusion..I can't give a rave review of this book.
I almost find it depressing as if the spiral is now going downwards and I don't see much in this book more than another slightly sad travel story and a allegory saying their is no joy in the end.
Why try.
