Rio is a city with three faces:
1) Chill laidback anything goes. Open-minded, not easily offended.
2) The classic Rio. People taking care of their appearances, working out a lot, running on the beach, etc.
3) The side I've been hammered the most unfortunately being..oober feminist, constantly trying to push the agendas that men should not take appearances into consideration when dating women, and annoying agenda pushers about political correctness on everything.

If anything, the third category I mentioned is a huge enabler for fat acceptance in Rio if not fat encouragement.

A very good friend in my US-based post-grad program was born in Belo Horizonte. He can attest to the fact that a lot of Rio natives are oober politically correct & always needed their feelings to be coddled in social situations.

I honestly love the local culture of Rio & the city itself...the young people however...

Sometime ago, there were Brazilian PHDs doing research at my university in the US. They all liked to use the gym, do outdoorsy stuff, and play in sports leagues (obviously soccer). The Carioca (Rio de Janeiro guy) however was a lazy piece of shit who never did anything and always asked to hang out.....

Looking over all my bangs from Brazil I would probably say I had better looking women in the North-East, mainly Natal and Joao Pessoa but the hottest and sexiest women were from Rio. With that said the hottest girl I've had, who happened to also have the tightest fit and toned body, was a Colombian who grew up in Manaus. The 2nd hottest girl was probably a flight attendant from Rio who I wouldn't be surprised to learn I have eskimo brothers here with. The highest social class girl I had was from Joao Pessoa. Nicest ass while still being thin was from either Joao Pessoa or Natal, both 21yr olds. Most voluptuous body accompanied by the thickest/fattest ass but not fat body was my single bang from Belo Horizonte.

It might be easier to get good looking girls in the North-East than Rio or Manaus. In Rio your not going to stick out as much, you won't be as much of an instant attraction for people to observe. But then again Rio is soo big that there's more fish in the sea and girls from Zona Norte will travel an hour+ on public transportation to come see you. In the North-East you have smaller cities with less tourists so you will stick out more. If I had to choose one NE city I would probably pick Joao Pessoa. As a 5'10 blue eyed, blond haired gringo in fairly good shape, speaking decent Portuguese with interesting and Brazil-specific life experiences it was pretty easy for me to get laid everywhere in Brazil (I haven't visited South of Sao Paulo). It will be easy to lay lower quality women anywhere in Brazil but considering effort put in to lay more attractive and better class of women, then Joao Pessoa or Natal was best for me. Now if I had to choose one city in Brazil to take a 1 week vacation or to live in, I would choose Rio in a heartbeat.

Fast kissing or sexually aggressive behavior definitely doesn't happen only in Rio, there are no absolutes. The 18yr old lesbian story was during the World Cup though so there was more of a party atmosphere to put things into perspective.

It really depends which girl you are gaming... those teens (from 18-21) are fast kissing types in parties, go to kino-escalation and profit.

Or they can be mid-20s with the maturity level of 18-21. A good example would be girls studying medicine so they are still in that school girl party mode.

A good strategy. One line that has worked for me is going up to a girl with a stern bitch face..and saying something along the lines of "você parece muito feliz, né?" (You seem very happy, right?) It gets them laughing..and they follow it up with "de onde você, é?" while laughing (Where are you from?).

Time for Carnival. So what is going on in Rio?

I’d like to add some more information about it.

Again, came solo, stayed in Ipanema in front of the beach. Got it at Airbnb again, cuz I can invite whoever I want. Can’t recall the price right now.

Anyway, the carnival starts the 24, however right now there are parties in different places of the city. You will probably get a pamphlet in the streets with the name, time and location. For example, the one at Ipanema on Sunday 10 am is called “If you don’t want to give it to me, then can you borrow it to me?” and shit like that. I got yesterday 9 free condoms in there.



There will be music in the streets and tons of alcohol of course. In addition people use all kind of costumes and glitter. However you will notice some differences between them. If you go to Leblon you’ll find more “high class” people. But if you choose the one at the center, expect fights and mess. The police is deploying 1000 officers, but they are expecting one million dudes. So the Ratio is 1 cop for 1000 go figure.

GAME
Game at the streets parties: Be advised that the beaches are full, of jacked and handsome dudes. It looked like a convention of a Spartan army, I mean even in a supermarket in the line there will be a shirtless tall, tan, handsome packed dude. Therefore I tried to dress sharp during the night, as I saw people lacking of that. It seems it worked somehow.

I addition I saw many of them doing some kind of aggressive “game”, like playing drunk while trying to hug too much, but got rejected quickly. I saw the guys making out, kind of calm, just smiling, and having fun. So I went more friendly and soft, and soon I was making out with the girl that ejected the tall dude.
You can also buy drinks the night before and have them in the fridge, even ice cream, so you can invite her to your place. To drink, to get sunblock, to stay under the A/c for a while, to take the shower, eat something, you name it. A beer can cost 5 - 8 reals depending on the size.

Of you need to go to the gym, the planet fitness one costs around $80 15 days, where there are cute girls, but there is another one for $20 a month, not fancy at all, just to do what you have to do. You can also jog next to the beach and you’ll find many stuff for calisthenics, not bad, and free. In addition you might find other girls chatting there.

Customer service
Don’t expect a nice customer service. Get used to that. If you go to one of the 100’s Zona Sul supermarket, you’ll see the same clone of this black girl in all the cashier. Is like they are doing you a favor to charge you. Same in Subway. The chick will stay seating there watching the phone until you call her.

Transportation.

I will just disagree what somebody said about that is better in the airport to take a cab outside and not in the counter. In the counter they will give you a fixed price. I’m talking about the GIG airport, that is far. In this case to Ipanema will be R70 and they will give you a card, saying that in your way back they will charge R50. The time I got it outside, they charged me R99. Uber might charge R55, but you won’t find them in there. You’ll find at the SDU airport though.
