I despise other people's forgotten things in my house so I would always do a "did you forget anything" and a sweep of my place before they left. This comes from the logging days of yelling at employees who forgot something like a chainsaw on a cutover block 5 hours away that no one would be going back to for the next 80 years.

I've found shit stuffed into weird places that could only have gotten there if someone had deliberately placed it there. It's just how girls mark their territory, and gives them a plausible deniability excuse to make further contact.
