Calling out a girl for burying her face in her iPhone
So, there are a couple of scenarios here:

Scenario 1: You're out with the girl on a date or whatever, and she keeps checking her iPhone every 5-10 minutes or so, sometimes responding to any messages she may have received.

Scenario 2: You're out with friends. A female friend has brought along her friend (a female) to introduce to you, etc. After introductions and some chit-chat, the friend proceeds to separate from the main group a few paces and then buries her face into her iPhone for the rest of the evening (thereby ignoring you).

How would you handle either or both of these situations? What would you do? What would you say?

Call her out on it especially if out on a date. You can't compete with her smart phone. Don't even try. If she is not willing to put it away, you should walk away.

Be playful about 'asking' her to put it away at first. Then if the problem continues, firmly state you would like her to put it away. Bail if she's a bitch about it.

The tap move also can work. Just playfully tap on her screen every time she brings her phone out.

#1: "Would you like to take a break from our conversation so you can finish your texting? Seems like it must be something important." If she continues just get up and leave. "I hope you and your phone enjoy the rest of the evening" and smile

#2 : Be happy the friend isn't interfering. Leave her alone and let her text

RE: Calling out a girl for burying her face in her iPhone
Scenario 1: After she was finished I would stare deeply into her eyes until she said, "What?" Then I would keep on silently staring until she apologized and said she wouldn't do it again. If she instead starts to defend her phone rights, then you know what kind of woman you are dealing with and you treat her as such.

Scenario 2: She's not on a date with you, she's never met you before so she has no obligations. You could go over and ask her if there's anything juicy to see.

I see the phone thing as a big shit test. "Are you man enough to reign me in?"

RE: Calling out a girl for burying her face in her iPhone
Scenario 1: I fucking HATE when bitches are on their phones during a date or a meet up. Every single girls I banged or am currently banging know not to use their phone around me.

Option 1:
I actually preempt girls from doing that. I'll leave my phone on the table where we're at usually it'll make a text message sound because I'm in a group text.

I immediately say "woah, I'm putting that way, it's annoying and a pet peeve when people are on their phones when I'm hanging out with them" and look directly at the girl.

Option 2:

If she's on her phone touch the screen and fuck with it OR grab her phone and put in her purse like nothing happened, continue the conversation regularly.

Option 3:

Closed out your tab when she goes to the bathroom and eject OR close out the tab in front of her and eject. You'll get a bitchy response, but it doesn't matter since you're over her anyways. If she's really into you, have her make it up at your house on another night.

Scenario 2

Option 1:

Ignore her and hangout with your friends, the girls don't owe you anything.

Option 2

I like to see the positive, if you're out, you and a wingman should initiate with the girls and start having fun and drinking. I don't see why you shouldn't be hanging out with these girls. Call them out playfully "Well you're just super stoked to be out right now judging by the way you're looking at your phone" etc etc. Bring them back into the circle and engage them. I see nothing wrong with that as long as it gets them off their phones.

On a date and phones come out?
I always grab the phone "Hey lemme see that real quick", set it on the table, then set mine on top of it.

"We're here, for the people who are here. First one to crack and touch their phone pays."
Then go on your "modern culture" grumpy old man rant about cell phones. Always makes me feel like I'm 80 yelling "Stay off my lawn!" at kids, but phones in group situations frustrate me.

Works if you're out with a group of people too.. especially if you have a buddy to help enforce (I.e. smacking away hands etc).

RE: Calling out a girl for burying her face in her iPhone
I like to keep things simple.

Simple response for both (and really, any scenario that matches):

"You can stop texting me. I'm right here."

I've used it so many times and it's absolute gold. Girls will get the hint and turn off their phone. Often times they'll place the phone in the middle or away from them.

Keep in mind that the optimal tone for the first sentence has to be authoritative and the second sentence has to ooze 'obviousness'. Try it.

RE: Calling out a girl for burying her face in her iPhone
If I'm on a date with a girl I always call them out when i see them on the phone a lot. If they don't listen I ditch them. If I just met a girl and see that she's more interested in her phone then I will cease to talk to her.

This is one of the things that annoy me though. The way communication is. Not even 10 years ago when I was just entering double digits I played outside a lot and talked to friends. I went over there house and we had fun and did things. I remember a girlfriend I had (it was only elementary and not serious but still) we used to race each other, play baseball, and talk to each other face to face... Nowadays women and their eyes are glued to their phones. It's a shame elementary puppy love is more memorable than today... and I'm only 21

I just sit there and watch them while leaving my phone untouched on the table. They get the message pretty quickly. If they don't I just end the date. Because if a girl is going to disrespect you from the start then you might as well quit while you are ahead.

I'll never be firm about asking someone to put it away. Typically I'll make a joke about it & if it isn't picked up on, I'll go into complete don't give a fuck mode.

Typically if you have to force someone to do something [In this case, put down her phone] - You have to work the 'mood' back into that sweet spot. Personally, thats more trouble than it's worth.
