There is this young guy who created a powered drink that has everything your body needs to subsist. It's the ultimate processed food you could say. Supposedly it has all the calories, vitamins, protein, carbs and fiber you need in a day and they rationed into 2,000 calorie packs. I've read a few articles about it and the people who have gone on it for a month says they didn't feel hungry or under-nourished. They even lost weight.

I find this idea interesting and I'm tempted to try it. I'm worried though about being a guinea pig as it sounds so unnatural. But it appeals to me in a few ways. First, I don't enjoy cooking at all. I don't like wasting time at the supermarket. And I don't like standing over a stove preparing shit. Buying food and cooking is time consuming. Another thing that appeals to me is that your calories are rationed out. There's no guesswork about whether you ate too many calories that day or got the right amount of vitamins. It's all formulated to be everything you need and you don't have to spend any time counting calories of your various meals, which gets really tricky when making your own food from scratch. And it's also cheap and cost $230 for a month supply.

What do you guys think about this?

Have some from a friend tastes like tasteless protein powder and pouring fish oil in.

Can't stomach more than one a day.

Is not satisfying to my stomach especially as a weight lifter that eats alot.

Made good as a quick breakfast or lunch at wprk if you want to save some time.

Vice covered this well:

This isn't the first meal replacement powder, but this one achieved viral momentum with clever marketing. It's just young guys (who aren't nutrition experts by profession) in a warehouse ordering raw materials in bulk and making this powder. There's not FDA oversight because it qualifies as a supplement.

Personally I wouldn't eat it because it doesn't have enough protein, but I think it could go a long way in addressing world hunger issues.

There's a powerlifter I know who eats this...all his meals are in shake form.

To me it sounds like it would take away any possible enjoyment of food. It makes it easy to count macros, though.

If only you knew how bad things really are.
