Bang Da Nang (Vietnam)

I just got done with a week in Hanoi so I'll post a data sheet there. Currently in Hoi An and loving it.

Seriously though, I wonder if President Trump's remarks will actually increase the interest for and the tourism to Danang? Certainly it's putting the city on the map for many foreigners interested in politics. But most people, thanks God, never translate interest into real travel.

These conversation points by the newbie are becoming more and more absurd.

At some point it seems better just to give up rather than engaging with an ongoing battle with common sense (that seems to be missing), but hey some of the newbies (give a bad name to newbies) seem like they have to prove their genius to the rest of us (out of touch guys).. go figure?

By the way, I was in Da Nang in 2015 - and for some reason, the beach and attempting to bang a chick went pretty well together.... funny how that works? I have also had experiences of meeting chicks on the beach, but more frequently, in my humble bumble life experiences, I have met chicks in other places and later take them to the beach.

In Da Nang, I don't recall the frozen part, even though my visit was February.

After the best part of a year in Saigon, the traffic, noise, and pollution is really starting to wear on me. I spent a few days in Da Nang during Tet so it was a bit deserted but I thought it was a really nice city. Curious though if it would be too small and get boring after a while.

Yea thats true. It does seem to me that the da nang chatter/hype has died off over the last year. But on paper, the place ticks virtually every box. But I always evaluate a place from a long-term resident perspective so it'd be interesting to hear from the guys who've settled in there. Seems like most are just passing through for a bit.

My income is entirely online so I can live anywhere (well lets say anywhere that allows a <$4,000/m budget). I'm not really keen on staying in Saigon as mentioned above so I'm scouting the options. Bali is another spot I'm considering.

Did you try visiting Hue? Its also close by, although slightly farther north. That place also gets a shit tonne of tourists both locals and foreigners as well.
You can try staying in da nang for 3 months since your location independent and see how you like it, then switch it up to somewhere else and stay there for 3 months. After 2-3 rotations, you should have a good idea of what you like.
