They are inexplicably popular with women. My guess is preselection they get plus being the center of attention (status) but even low level djs pull ass. It seems to be the new thing celebs want to do now. I see shaq, lil Jon, Paris Hilton and other d list celebs getting into it. I see djs pulling ultrahot girls much easier than even other types of entertainers (comedians, actors, YouTube personalities etc).

Any explanations or inside knowledge here I'm just not aware of?

EDM is the millenial generation's "rock and roll", such as it is. It's no different than when rockstars like Gene Simmons and Kurt Cobain were slaying like gangbusters in the 70's and 80's.

DJs have fame game levels >9000 - and we all know what fame does to sexually attractive females ...

Center of attention helps
Being hip to cool stuff helps

But being a part of the night life establishment is key. Bouncers get ass, the door guy gets ass, and the bartender is king of all. better than the owner, promoter, our club manager. Plus the bartender has a real shot at the waitstaff and shot girls.

It's not easy to get low level gigs because dj's are also part promoters now. And dumb club owners will get iPod playlists or hot girls pretending to push buttons.

All the club owners I've ever met, strip clubs too, are focused on the money. The hospitality industry is full of cut throats. Wasting time on the fish is a great way to lose your shirt.

But you walk around like you own the place. Sometimes play the long game, sometimes the short game, just like any other position of power.

It's not nearly as good as being the bartender.
