Any good ab exercises for bad knees?
I personally notice that every time I run the treadmill, my injured knees since childhood actually affected my posture and footing all the way to adulthood.

With that said, I am requesting ab, let alone any other, exercises that can be done with uneven knees.

Obviously, I have no qualms with the arms, for starters.

All of them?

Only ab exercise I think you would have issues doing are roll outs with a bar or ab wheel, and maybe cable crunches.

Otherwise, for other exercises such as deadlift and squats, just stagger your stance ever so slightly. One of the best olympic lifters in the world, Dimitry Klokov, does this as he had a previous injury, and while it may create slight imbalances, its better than not doing those exercises at all. To balance yourself out, just do single leg exercises as well.

My right knee specifically has the unevenness, to the point a podiatrist confirmed it to me five years ago.

Thank you, TheFinalEpic.

Well first off if you have "bad knees" it seems the last thing you should be doing is running on a treadmill.

If you can do squats and deadlift, do those.

If you can't, stick to leg raises, decline crunches, and machines.

One of the best, if not the absolute best exercise for the core is the common chinup/ pullup. You can progress on to towel hangs from the pullup bar once you get stronger.
It doesn't merely work the abs. You're also building great all around support strength in your upper lats, your biceps & your grip strength. Best bang for your buck exercise Baller
Your troublesome knees won't be an issue here.

I've just hit my thirties. Used to have troublesome knees which affected me on mountain & hiking expeditions. Especially when going downhill steep trails.

After a year's worth of consistent bodyweight squats & then progressing to pistol squats, i've virtually eliminated any lingering knee problems.
I don't work them everyday either. They get worked at least twice a week. Not sure if that is a relevant solution for your particular knee problem but i figured i'd share it.

Not sure what you mean by 'uneven knees'. I'll take it to mean you one knee is more unstable/weaker than the other. If you actually have legs of different lengths then I don't know.

If you have one weaker knee I am in the same boat. Had injuries to both knees (dislocated kneecaps, I don't recommend it). But my left knee was always weaker and had more injuries. Finally had surgery on it, which may have stabilized the kneecap but left my quads/vmo even more inactive.

The last year or two I have been trying to change this. Learned to do proper squats and front squats, and found isolation movements that make my quads fire. Finally have a little quad development. Knees feel stronger. I did not realize how much I had learned to work around the atrophied muscles. Going up stairs feels different.

If your problem is like mine, I'd recommend:

--learn to squat, if you don't already. Try elevating your heels while learning.
--leg press, experiment with single-leg presses, and different foot positions. Put your feet low on the plate and push through the ball of your foot. Even try a frog or duck foot position--heels together, toes pointing out at 45 degrees, push through ball of foot. Use light weight.
--Leg extension, single leg. Try partial reps at the top and bottom of the movement. Focus on your quads--look at them if you have to. Try doing a sort of straight-leg raise/contraction at the top of the movement if you can't feel it in your inner quad (VMO).
--Stationary bike. Set the seat lower than normal so your legs can't fully straighten, and set the resistance high, where you have to work hard to keep 60rpm. Do intervals.

RE: Any good ab exercises for bad knees?
I'm having quite a problem working my abs as i'm an older guy and my knees are completely shot. Even basic situps and crunches hurt like hell. I can't run at all for prolonged periods as they'll give out but have no problems powerwalking 7-8 miles nonstop. Even then i can barely bend my legs without severe pain.

Should i just get some painkillers and go for it, or is there something else i can do to work the abs without screaming in pain from my knees?

^ sounds like you should focus on getting knee surgery instead of your abs, if you can't afford to get them done in the states look at your overseas options.

The thing is that it'll require quite a lot to get my knees back together. We're talking both knees with multiple problems and then rehab. I don't have that kind of money or time now or in the near future.

Ok, if no one has ideas, how about this....

What is the strongest possible OTC painkiller that one would recommend here so i can at least do a proper workout despite being on a pair of damaged knees? I'll live with limping all the time as long as i can tone the body up some.

The fix for injured knees = pharma grade GH + testosterone + deca.

Wait, what the hell do bad knees have to do with your abs?

for abs, just to (roman chair) leg raises, dragon flags, planks and machine/cable crunches so you can increase the resistance
