What exactly do you mean by being "beta" with her? As in being her trusted confidante? Telling her your deepest, darkest secrets? Careful with those type of involvements with women, usually ends up one-sided

I think you'll hear a range of opinions from the members of this forum about platonic female friends. And lets call it that rather than "acting beta," ok?

Personally, I have no problem having female friends if it's a mutually beneficial relationship and I never had romantic interest to begin with. Never underestimate the usefulness of having a friend that has hot friends. Also realize that women give terrible dating advice, so that aspect is incredibly useless.

But, you must avoid at all costs any relationship you have with a woman where she is just using you for emotional support as her beta orbiter. You mentioned you bought her lunch. Why do this if she's not even banging you? Is she offering anything in return or is she just talking to you when she's bored? Think about these things long and hard, and thoroughly examine whether or not you have any type of feelings for her. Because if you do, you're not getting anything out of a friendship with her if she's dating another guy.

On a serious note, if you have to be beta around anyone then you aren't necessarily alpha around anyone else either.

I'm not sure how you turn the alpha / beta switch on and off. If you do that, it would be beta by default.

Only in my blue pill days did I ever even desire to be friends with girls. I looked around and saw other guys that were friends with all these hot girls (but not getting any of course) and was jealous. I thought something was wrong with me, like I didn't know how to relate to women, and that's why I couldn't find a girlfriend.

Fast forward a few years and now I recognize all those same guys for the betas that they are. They're friends with hot chicks that I'd bang if I could but the difference between me and these guys is that if I'm not getting what I want then I'm not going to suppress all my testosterone-fueled horniness just for the privilege of being some hot girl's "friend."

Not only that, women usually talk about and do the most boring shit. Whenever I observe a group of women on "girls night out" I can't for the life of me figure out what it is that they're doing that's just so fucking fun.

In that sense, I don't think I could ever be friends with a girl. When I say "friend" I mean someone that I'd want to hang out with on a regular basis even if I didn't have to because of work or school. Hell, there are only a handful of guys I put in this category.

It's not out of principal or hardcore red pill mentality, it's just that men are objectively cooler. There are some girls, however, that I see around all the time because I have to that I think are cool so if there's some downtime I'll chat with them. I won't do this with any girl; if I think a chick is lame and I don't want to fuck her, or I already tried, then I'd rather keep to myself. I don't think doing this is inherently beta, but it doesn't mean you can be beta around them, as your question suggests.
