I am an Indian man who lives in an area that is overwhelmingly White. We do have East Asians and even some Indians here but I have noticed something.

1. Indian men who have a really darkish Southern appearance tend to get ignored a lot from the ladies, even more than Asian males.

2. Indian men who have the light tanned appearance (Northern Indians like the Bollywood Actor types) tend to attract more ladies, they do better with both Indian ladies and non-Indian ladies.

So the totem pole put Indian men at number 9, ahead of East Asian men (though in my time here, East Asian men have stepped up their game big time). Now when it put Indian men at number 9 was it talking about the first type of Indian men (who make up the majority of Indians in the US) or both types of Indian men?

Problem is I live in a conservative town, never lived in a big city before. I have dated 4 girls and all four have been White because those are all I came across. So I don't really have much exposure to a diverse number of girls but I was wondering if you guys who live in those diverse type areas could help me out.

Also, where would the lighter Indian males rank on the totem pole?

Indian guys have a problem getting laid because this type of massive beta pedestalization and "I'll-follow-you-to-the-ends-of-the-Earth" white-knighting has poisoned the popular culture, effeminizing the average Indian and elevating women in "regular" Indian dudes' heads to levels they can't ever hope to reach. Add to that a caste system that strictly places people in unchangeable statuses based on race (skin color and region) and wealth, and you have a disaster on your hands.

I blame Bollywood, the "marriage culture," and epidemic inner-game issues for most of this. Watch any Bollywood movie and you'll see all of the problems laid bare within minutes.

I did not get it! The girl gets kidnapped, and he tries to run after to save her (granted he was screaming like a little bitch form the balcony at her, I personally would of thrown something at her), but I don't see how it demonstrates your statement Tuth. Not that I disagree with you, is just that I was trying to tie the video to your statement.

Yeah, I see how that could be a little vague if you haven't seen this movie all the way through, though I think you can start to get a sense for how obsessed this guy is with this one girl.

In the movie, this guy follows this girl around his whole life, wanting to bang her from pretty much childhood to that moment in the clip--in a monumental case of one-itis. These sort of "epic love stories" are par for the course in Bollywood movies. Every movie, regardless of whether it's an action, drama, or love story includes this type of story within it. Even though Slumdog Millionaire wasn't technically a "Bollywood" movie, since it was made by Americans, it basically followed the formula loyally.

In each one of these Bollywood flicks, the dude has do super-human stuff to land the chick. The girl is presented in god-like stature. They guys are presented as a groveling, unworthy betas, even when they're super-cool, rockstar types outside the company of women. Every movie ends in an elaborate wedding. No one gets any action outside of marriage. I can't overstate how common this motif is. I've seen dozen of them, since I have some Indian friends that like them, and I can say that it's pretty much 100 percent of the movies.

My argument is that this sort messaging, where women are elevated as these unattainable objects and the men that are ultimately successful at scoring them are depicted as super-betas that have to grovel and ultimately must marry, has permeated the culture and affected the way the average Indian dude perceives women and game.

Sure, it's a chicken-and-egg argument, the culture creates the movies, but Bollywood serves as a powerful reinforcer that transcends national boundaries. Even Indians outside of India fall victim to this shit within their relocated families and communities.

If this is the case, couldn't an Indian guy overcome it just by not conforming to the stereotype? I can see how there might be an initial hurdle to overcome where the girl assumes you're a pedestalizing beta but it's not something a little asshole game can't fix.

It might even work to your advantage: defy their expectations and they'll want to dig deeper and figure you out.

If you are an Indian man who has issues with your race work on your inner game and hang out with people from other races. IF you have an accent work on fixing it through deliberate practice.

Its hilarious that Indian guys listen to this bullshit. I'm 17 and I'm approaching girls older than me, if I had that mindset I'd stop approaching in the daytime because I'd think "oh they are too old for me". I look at it as advantage, If I can learn this when I'm 17 imagine how good I can be when I reach 30 years?

Indian men can be whatever they choose, I choose to define myself by my own terms, not my race. If anything its an advantage, its never a disadvantage. It may be harder to let go of your social conditioning and you may have a tougher climb because of the culture's conditioning but always view it as an advantage or a non factor.

Any totem pole is a generalization. Wouldn't pay too much attention to it. It applies to APPEARANCE alone which is one of many factors that make a man attractive. Also this is Roosh's personal opinion not a worldwide scientific poll.

I'm wondering why where an Indian male ranks on any chart has any relevance at all? If some study says on average a light skinned indian male picks up the 3rd most amount of chicks what are you gonna hit a club or whatever wait till the 1st and 2nd rated guys pick there desired targets then tell the rest of the room to back off while you choose since you're 3rd?

If we're speaking generalities, a lighter skinned Indian male comes across as more attractive than their darker brethren but if they're both rocking typical shitty Indian male game it doesn't matter who is going after the girl they're both not getting anywhere. I'm a very light skinned Indian male, I pass for pretty much anything wherever I go, to date nobody has pegged me as Indian off a first guess and I'm good looking, all modesty aside, but until I knew how to talk to a girl it didnt help me at all. I've learned thankfully lol. I live in a big city with lots of different cultures, Vancouver, you'll always run across the odd girl who wont date outside her race but the majority could care less as long as you're not a fresh off the boat Indian. If you've got some style some swagger and some game you'll be in contention.

Hopefully that answered your question a little bit but the question itself isn't entirely clear, at least to me.

The major reason why a lot of these questions about being Indian and being perceived as lower value stems from the way Indians are brought up more or less. But I totally agree that it is getting annoying seeing threads with such questions 'I am X race/background, where do I rank on totem pole, blah, blah.' or 'Do I have chance if I am X race in Y place'.

Irrespective of where they were raised, they are raised with this constant need to seek approval and validation from peers, parents and society at large and it reflects in most of what they do. Guys from the more liberal and modern families do tend to make their own decisions etc, but predominantly most of the guys are raised with 'follow the herd' mentalities as that is accepted and the social norm.

This is something which not only pertains to how Indian guys interact with girls, but just about everything. Its like they decide what to wear, what to study, how to do something everything based on how everyone else is doing it and what everyone approves off. Before some of you start jumping up saying I am making gross generalizations, I am obviously not saying it is always like this, but it is predominantly like this!

Tuthmosis is very right about the whole Bollywood influence. That sort of thing is very common with Indian dudes, and does play a huge part with what they do and how they behave.

Most of the Indian movies are made with the same motif - unattainable girl, guy goes to the end of the world to get her, goes up against bad guys, society through his white knight actions and eventually succeeds in attaining the girl with everyone applauding his efforts. Sadly, the real world does not work that way.

Not only does this distort reality for the guys, who end up putting girls on a pedestal, it also inflates the girls in to thinking the guys should do the same kind of stuff they see on Bollywood flicks and soap operas for them.

Yes, but the question is rather moot since there is really no proper answer to your question. We can give you opinions but they can amount to nothing and will neither be objective nor can be corroborated with data.

Irrespective of whether you are darker skinned or the fairer kind, you are only as attractive and valuable as you portray. Just because one is fairer skinned Indian dude does not mean he is rated better or does better with girls.

Yes if it will help if you aren't too dark maybe but then again it has no consequence, as mikeymike put it, if you act like a typical Indian dude or in a beta-ish manner.

The best thing you can do is stop relying so much or concerning yourself with such rankings, take care and put effort in to your appearance and be self-confident of who you are regardless of how fair or dark you are. That confidence will come through and project out more than the fairness of your skin.

As torontokid said, the problem is not your skin color, it is your inner game and confidence that is the problem here. You need to believe that you can be whatever you want to be and have to act that way. If you have specific problems at that point, then ask for suggestions on how to rectify them and people will help out.

Unless you are planning on getting plastic surgery done, a la MJ style, if everyone here concurs that fairer skinned Indian guys rank better than 9.

I know of an oldish Indian guy at may law school (he is obviously older than all other students), but he is well connected socially, and from what I have seen pulls fairly cute white girls. His skin is medium colored, not the fairest I've seen, but also not Tamil brown. He is of average looks AT BEST.

TL;DR mediocre looking old Indian dude pulls young white poonani --> (natural game)
