Anyone seen the movie Kumaré?

Synopsis from imdb:
A documentary about a man who impersonates a wise Indian Guru and builds a following in Arizona. At the height of his popularity, the Guru Kumaré must reveal his true identity to his disciples and unveil his greatest teaching of all.

All throughout the movie as he is building is following it's obvious how turned on by him women are when they first meet and continue coming to his classes becoming more devout followers.

I'm of an Indian background and I've seen the documentary, but what's the point of acting like a cartoon character just to get pussy?

This reminds me of somebody saying that a guy has to be a clown to pick up women in America.

The only downside I see in "guru game" is that you have to believe your own bullshit.

I know a guy in the esoteric-tarot reading industry. The amount of women throwing themselves at him is amazing, and his level of exposure guarantees that he gets plenty of 10-scale, top notch pussy coming his way.

Plus, hes banking it. Hes in the seven digits a year level.

Who's acting like a sitcom character here? The only way I would do guru shit is to rip people off of their money. I know of guys in India who do that.

I just try to be confident around women and don't even mention Indian stuff, unless they specifically mention it.

I am into some esoteric stuff myself. The problem is that it's essentially an ethics dilemma. I would simply feel bad scamming people - even if someone has some marketable abilities. Most of the buggers don't even have that - they are just masters in connology like in the little documentary here.

The problem with true spirituality is that it is given for very little quite naturally. I would not be opposed to making money off it for survival, but earning 7 digits is catering to a specific kind of audience. Only selling books on spirituality can potentially be a decent thing, since you don't focus on wealthy people exclusively and charge them fantastic sums.
