Import/Export - SEA
I am considering starting an operation in South East Asia (SEA) with a canadian-chinese friend of mine. We will be doing sea cucumber to start with, and will try to export them to the China market. We will base ourselves in Manila, Philippines (operating from my family old house), and sourcing the materials from the country side. My experience is limited to one time transactions in import/export, but my friend had been a supply chain operator for less than 4 years.

I'd like to know if anybody out there can drop knowledge on Asian markets or in the import/export trade to gleam lessons from it. Thanks!

I think it's a great idea to be a SE Asian exporter exporting to China. Just don't get screwed on payments - not that I can speak from experience, but that seems to be the biggest problem with businesses that have Chinese clients.

I'm also looking into getting into the import/export in China and would like to see any feedback from others who have done or are doing now now.

I've been importing Chinese products for a while now. Everything okay but watch out.

Like all great travellers, I remember more than I have seen and have seen more than I remember
