I wake up around 6:30 - 7, drink a cup of black coffee, and take zinc, a multi-vitamin, and ZMA.
What are the benefits you guys have seen of zinc?

You are absolutely right. I just dont believe eating breakfast in general is a problem.
I honestly believe it's more about lack of exercise than what people are eating; considering that it skyrocketed circa 80s and onward after cable TV, video games, and now social media became mainstream hobbies replacing physical activity.
Even if a person's diet consists of nothing but table sugar and crisco I don't believe they should get fat just because they are eating "bad food" so long as the calories in are par with the calories out.
To me the media trend of blaming "fast food" or "junk food" is partly another way of skirting personal responsibility, since it allows people to point fingers at the "corporations" who make the food rather than just get up off the coach every now and then.

If people stuck to fruit, grains, and maybe healthy fats, it wouldn't be a problem in general, although those people would still be dumping some calories into their systems at a very early hour. I think everyone here would agree that very, very few people who eat breakfast do so responsibly and that's mostly where the problem lies.

I wake up around 6:30 - 7, drink a cup of black coffee, and take zinc, a multi-vitamin, and ZMA. I usually get to the office around 9, on my bike, assuming I'm not in court. During the day I drink water infused with lemon, lime, cucumber, and apple cider vinegar. I also drink a shitload of coffee flavored with cinnamon. Sometimes I'll drink yerba mate tea instead of coffee. I have a standing desk so that I'm not just sitting around all day.
Typically I eat my first meal around 3pm at the office (avocado, sardines, little bit of Greek yogurt, and a tablespoon of fish oil). These are foods that are easy to store in the office, they're light, and don't require any cooking. My pantry is filled with nothing but sardines, and avocados keep really well.
I go to the gym around 4pm for heavy lifting, and then do kickboxing or BJJ around 6. If I'm pressed for time, P90x is great. My basement is setup as a gym.
After, I eat something like steak and eggs (cooked in lard or Kerrygold butter), washed down with cold green tea and another tablespoon of fish oil. Maybe raw or cooked coconut if I'm still hungry. I might also have a cup of coffee with coconut oil or butter, bulletproof style.
If I'm not doing anything active due to court obligations, I might do a 24 or 48 hour fast, especially if I'm feeling fat. Intermittent fasting and heavy caloric restriction knocks the weight right off, provided your body is able to do it. (your insulin levels need to be squared away).
I spend the rest of my evenings drafting motions, replying to emails, posting on the RVF, etc.
Again, this just fits my lifestyle and keeps everything simple. If I were a construction worker I might eat breakfast.
We have very similar lifestyles, except that I'm not an early riser. If I don't have court in the morning, I rarely wake up before noon. I used to sometimes wake up early to meet with clients, but I stopped doing that about a year and a half ago.

Here's hoping though that the trend of advocating "acceptance" of dysfunctional behaviors such as obesity and gender confusion dies off since it's really no different than when tobacco companies used to promote cigarettes as a "health or weight loss product".
At 18 years old, Spartan men were considered the finest soldiers in the world.
During the Peloponnesian War, the Athenians decided to invade Sicily. Enemies of Athens, the Spartans agreed to aid Sicily, but would only send one Spartan commander with a small council. They sent Lysander, who would raise an army of Sicilians.
The first thing Lysander did was proscribe mandatory exercise for all males. He made the Sicilians fat shame anyone who did not meet his standards, and even sing songs about them in the public streets.
Under Lysander's command, the Sicilians were successful defeating the Athenians, who were thought to be the superior force.
Yet here we are, training our younger generation to demand safe spaces...

I used to do that too, but I found that it makes waking up for 8:30am court appearances a nightmare. Plus the day is half over when I get to the office, and people don't like taking my phone calls after 5pm. Clients also start blowing me up at 8:30am for some reason. This morning I was trying to sleep in, but the calls just kept coming.
I've had to train myself to get up early. I don't like doing it, but find that it's somewhat necessary based on the needs of my clients.

People really don't like taking your calls after 5:00 P.M.? I'm actually more able to get a hold of people after 5:00, as many people aren't working after 5:00. At my old practice we had a rule that we didn't call clients after 10:00 P.M. and I've continued that practice since I went on my own. I also don't get bombarded at 8:30 A.M., but I have people call me at 4:00 A.M. and 6:00 A.M. and stuff and act like it's completely normal.

The best advice i feel i ever received about eating and obesity was in a ROK article.
I dont remember what it was. But it said (laymans) "Any man can start losing weight if they were to lift and you dont have to do it often (twice a week)." And "Dont see food as anything but fuel".
And it has worked so far for me. Whatever the fuck i was conditioned to do never worked until i took that advice. I bring that up because that plate of 10000 calorie garbage you find at a Cheesecake Factory no longer cuts it for me. I want to see what I can eat as fuel. Do you want that bloomin onion at Outback? I used to eat most of one. No fucking way now.
I believe its a combination of things. Eating CocoPuff crap, not exercising, staying inert. But its also seeing food as pleasure, not as fuel. You feel guilty for not eating all of that triple cheeseburger with special goat cheese and bacon so you eat all of it. You dont want to waste food. That frappachino double chocolate "venti" at Starbucks? You only wanted a small but you had the money in your account you have to drink all of it.
That and we are conditioned to eat specific foods because that "lobby" petitioned the government to make it a part of the food pyramid. Its why we are "rediscovering" fat as something humans need, not as a future heart attack.
I am not at the point you guys are, yet.

Thought you might find this article on Conor McGregor interesting:

Seems like his overall training and diet regimen may be similar to that of older societies such as the ancient Spartans or even hunter-gatherer societies; apparently he doesn't use a gym, but works out using calisthenics, also doesn't follow a strict diet regimen, but essentially "eats when he wants".
And despite the modern popularity of strict diet and fitness routines measuring ingredients or isolating specific muscles, it seems to produce pretty damn good results from me in the ring.
