I have some real world experience. I got lost in life the past few years. Time to fix it.

I can easily get a 4.0 this year.

I imagine in a few years I am going to own my own business.

GPA does not matter after your first job. And even for your first job they may not even care. However, if after your first few jobs you are still putting your GPA on your resume, and you haven't accomplished anything in the real world, that WILL hold you back.

When I've screened applications for open positions in the organizations I've worked for, I only noticed their college grades if they had received an honor, i.e. cum laude, magna cum laude, etc, otherwise I didn't pay any attention to their GPA. All that mattered was that they had the degree.

Not every industry is that way. In a lot of them they'll toss a resume in the trash if it's below a certain threshold.

I know banking is like this. I had a 3.5 and I got interviews. Now, not so much.

Though, GPA only gets you in the door. After that it's you.
