Just finished watching the show...
Pretty good first episode, kinda weird that Christian Slater is in it thou.
Show landed a couple of good punches on many key subjects plaguing our society today: our current financial system, student debt, drug use related to depression, Zuckerberg & Jobs and our ilusion of privacy, the 1% that runs everything and the evil corp logo is a total reference to Enron.... But what's up with that Anonymous corny reference? And the whole show being on limited commercial interruption, but the very first commercial they showed was one from google hahaha oook! (East Coast, US)
I'm a comp engineer so all those tech/hacking scenes gave me a boner!
The music complements the show amazingly, It reminds me of the work Trent Reznor has done recently for 'The social network' and 'Citizen four':










Show looks promising, will keep watching it!

I just watched finished watching the pilot and enjoyed it. Some of the statements about society would resonate very well with this community.

On the other hand, the "tech" elements are largely intellectually insulting.

It certainly makes an attempt not to dumb down the material, but anyone knows that brute force hacks are old hat and that virtually any modern system has safeguards against repeated password attempts.

The main character does have some smart moves and some of the tech talk is stimulating, but I think we're past the point technologically where knowing what someone's dog's name is and who their favourite baseball team is will guarantee any sort of results.

Still, I'll keep watching. The acting is very good (except for the female lead) and this could develop into a smart show.

It's also possible that the pilot completely oversold it, but I'm willing to take that risk.

Last week was a weird ride through the main's character withdrawal episode.
Something big is about to happen, the blonde girl is cute as fuck and the other hacker girl is smoking hot!
Don't give up so fast fellas! I do think that they ripped off fight club and that Elliot's subconscious created mr. Robot. Just like Tyler Durden

I was enjoying it.. but just like several shows lately it was ruined by faggotry.

It seems to be a pattern in shows recently that the seemingly successful, confident guy is a secret faggot who randomly just kisses a guy out of nowhere. I turned off 'halt and catch fire' when the same thing happened. Sick of this shit ruining everything.

I'm binge-watching the series now. Just finished episode 6. I haven't been really impressed so far, it does seem like a less well-done rip-off of Dexter and maybe some of Fight Club. The writing is pretty cheesy and thin at times, the plot is forced. I'll finish the season just for the hell of it, at this point. I had heard this show was great, so overall it's been a disappointment.

^^Defenitely agree. I was really intrigued the first few episodes as I'm a fan of characters that are constantly in deep thought. But towards the last few episodes it did began to lose some steam for me. A few plot holes as well, pero I won't post any spoilers.

Apologies in advance for dragging this discussion into the mud ... but Stephanie Corneliussen probably has the best DSLs I have seen in a long time. I mean - look at those things - she could probably suck a melon through a straw:



Otherwise the show is entertaining but chockfull of millenial teen angst. Everything is doom & gloom these days. Seems like the masses are being prepared for the invariable melt down, be it economic, social, ecologic, disease, war, etc.

I bowed out after 4 episodes, as others have mentioned, it died in the ass very fast after a promising start.

It's like they pulled out all the stops for the pilot and then lost their mojo (and maybe didn't have the same writing staff?) for the season proper.

Having said that, I may have to revisit just for that mighty fine lizard.

Just finished the season. I'd say the last 3 eps were a bit stronger. Some decent twists but still not amazing. Like a 7/10 for the season. But the Danish chick definitely is a 10/10. WB!

Can someone tell me what the fuck is happening through the series?

First it seems this dude has an alter ego, like Tyler Durden but Mr. Robot in this case. Then the guy goes to a shrink and makes a friend, but in reality he is in prison. So how did he hack all that shit?

The colors are too dark, which on adds to the overall confusion. I must admit, I did not see season 1 and rather jumped in to season two right away. Ever since KickAss and TBP were taken down, it's been hard for me to mooch off the interwebs.
