From a little research at the CPS website for sentencing guidelines I stumbled upon this quote

"Sentences vary from 4 months to 3 years. The longest sentences are reserved for cases where an innocent person has been maliciously targeted."

However this advice is almost 4 years old and most definitely has been updated since.

Seeings as this mostly false under "perverting the cause of justice" we can probably more accurately work out possible sentencing from those guidelines, also found on the CPS website.

The Guardian newspaper, which is a left leaning newspaper in the UK states that perverting the course of justice has a maximum of life prison sentence, however it's source has not been identified.

Whereas a person convicted of rape may receive life in prison. We can perhaps disregard the Guardians claims and use the CPS 2011 sentencing guidelines.

Maximum 3 years for falsely accusing persons of rape vs maximum of life for being convicted of rape. Does not remotely seem like a just trade off to me. It is also worth noting that in the UK rape is classed as penetration by penis. So by definition can only be committed by men. Penetration via any other means is not classed as rape, it does however go under the less serious sexual offences.


Any likely sentence this broad will receive is guaranteed to be substantially less than what she deserves to receive.

I have a slightly optimistic view of the future, however.

Think about it: These false rape cases keep growing and growing as of recent months.

Eventually, one of these stories is going to somehow blow up and make national news, which will (hopefully) cause some sort of backlash, especially from western men like myself who are constantly told about the dangers of "rape culture" on their respective college campus and know that they could become the victim of a false case.

This could lead to an increase in the minimum and/or maximum sentence. And hopefully a more specific court definition and sentence for false rape accusations instead of tiptoeing around the obvious and calling it "perverting the course of justice" or "wasting police time".

While we are a tad alarmist here about false rape accusations, its important to look at the actual numbers from multiple reliable sources if possible.

Social justice warriors will fudge or cherry pick data to support their narrative, but don't fall into that trap. False rape stats and gender wage gap stats have been all he rage for years and years.
