This is something I've had a hard time to understand on dating websites recently. You would ask for the girl's number and she would refuse, saying it's something private that she doesn't give to strangers! Then she would ask for your Facebook.

So, a website where she puts her last name, date of birth, college, work, hundreds of private pictures, and where you can see everything that happened in her life since 2008 is OK, but a simple phone number, whoa that's private!

I don't get the logic behind this. I don't want to give my last name to those girls and if I set up a fake account, it would be suspiciously empty. What would you reply to a girl who tells you this?

There is no logic. She's just not interesting and is being a cunt. Move onto girls who don't have such shitty personalities. If she refuses her number but gives you her FB she's a waste of time.

Or, "I don't have FB". Which wouldn't work if you're using Tinder, but it could be an option.

FB is the social proof, she can creep on your profile to see if your life is cool enough for her, and you're right once she has your name, she can google you with wild abandon. If she's that type, maybe she's more of a pain in the ass than she's worth?

FWIW, I have a couple friends who use aliases on FB. One is a public school teacher and doesn't want his kids finding his profile. Another I think is basically paranoid. They both have funny plays on words for their names, so you could try that - just come up with a clever play on words for your FB name.

Some chicks also like to mark their territory too, writing shit on your wall to scare off the competition.

I have used that multiple times. That is not a line either - if she doesn't change her ways then it is goodbye.

It is a huge red flag either way and any sort of secondary weird behavior would be an automatic delete.

Move on. I've only gotten that once in my life and the girl turned out to be a lesbian. Before we got into the venue where I met her, I saw her haggling with the door guy over a $5.00 cover. She was also making fun of the flip phone that the cell phone provider gave me as a temporary phone because I lost my real phone earlier that day. A real winner.

Lots of internet women want to spend tons of time online (email,computer chat, etc.) Unless your dick fits into your computer's USB port,you'll never get anywhere with them.

Bottom line: if not interested in meeting you fairly soon you're wasting your time.

Back when I used FB, lots ofwomen used an initial or middle name instead of her last name, such as Anne Marie or Anne W. But I don't bother with FB anymore.

I remember 6 months ago I matched with a girl on Tinder and we went back and forth for on the app at least 3 days; she was a solid 8 and seemed really cool over text so I didn't mind putting in a bit of extra effort. I finally asked her for her number, and she refused saying that she's had "bad experiences" giving out her number in the past. I thought it was weird, but shrugged it off. A few days later, out of the blue, she unmatched me and that was it. Hah.

If her "number is private", no chance. There's enough girls that give you their number and then stop talking to you, so its not worth it to waste time on a girl who's afraid to give you her number.

It's a shit test, but even if you pass it, girls like this are very rarely worth the effort.

She's either attention whoring or she's a girl with a ton of "rules". Even if you coerce her into giving you the number you'll run into roadblocks at every turn. She won't kiss you for x amount of dates, she won't bang you until you've committed monogamy, she won't bang you in anything but missionary. It goes on and on....

Is this a European thing? I've never encounter this in my life out of all the numerous numbers i've gotten online over the years.

Facebook is considered a more private thing than one's mobile number for the most part. Facebook is usually giving you their full name, education, work history, friends, photos....

In some way, you are making her think you might do this. I don't mean to imply you would, but she clearly is hesitant about giving her number to you.

Obviously it's not "privacy", it's the control she has on Facebook. She can unfriend you and also can learn more about you.

If she was really into you she would give you her number, because if she's thinking you'd be that kind of guy, she probably isn't feeling you...

I have only experienced this in Poland Daygaming. I thought is was strange because Facebook seems more private as it has information pertaining to friends, work, school, etc. If it happens in the US, it is just attention whoring and you won't likely meet up with her.

Clearly that just means she is not interested. Move on. Plus its pretty damn creepy going on her facebook anyway. She is just looking to expand her friend lists and fishing for more likes on her attention whoring pictures.

On a side note would like to ask the forum about this: should we not EVER add girl on FB ever? I take the no FB thing to a little extreme I think. I dont add any girls in social circle on FB, only if they add me first. I didnt even give my FB to my ex, and my current main has to actually asked for mine and I was even reluctant to give it to her.

EDIT: if you are in France this is strange indeed. Girls would give you their number but not their FB according to my experience

If I'm traveling abroad, and if I really like a girl that I was banging then I'll get her FB. I like to stalk her pictures when I'm gone, it brings back nice memories for me. When I'm home in the U.S. I don't like to exchange FB with girls.

100% correct.
If she won't submit to your frame and give you the number, then move on immediately. Done. It's a shit test that you can't give in to.

Never give out Facebook info (if at all) if you can avoid it. If you have to give it at all, give it ONLY after you are already sleeping with her.

The high rep members are giving you good advice about moving on/ nexting. You simply have not built up enough attraction. The search function here will give you all you need to know about website lizards.

It's ok to be new, and want to learn. I learn something new everyday. The best advice I ever received about the number close is that it is not the goal. A number doesn't satisfy, so act like it's no big deal. Just tell her to give you her number, hand her your phone to call herself, and be done with it. Stop asking, "May I have your number, please?" in any variation you can think of. It comes off weak. You think they pull this FB crap on everyone? Not likely.

Anything online, if you want her cell after you have built the attraction and given a little comfort in maybe 3/4 messages, just send:

You: #
Her: [555-5555] or [what?] are typical
You (if no digits): Send me your number, I hate checking this app for your shit (you can delete the "for your shit" if it's not your style)

Here's the rule for you, in online game or in real life: if the girl doesn't give out her phone number she can fuck off.

I'm banging 4 girls this week, flaking on three others at least the ones I can remember. The girl I banged last night I was balls deep in the ass of within a few hours of meeting. Was she hesitant in giving me her phone number? Of course not.

"I don't give out my phone number" -> move on to next girl, this one doesn't exist in your world.
