Any Ray Peat / Danny Rody fans here?
I've been doing stuff mentioned in "hair like a fox" from Danny Roddy and I improved from shedding 20-30 hairs in shower to like 5.
Combined with no-poo my hair looks better then it did when I was kid
Anyway, they recommend interesting, although a bit different diet that goes against most of the mainstream thinking. It might sound crazy at first but there is a lot of "science" behind it if you research... Here are foods:
I really recommend book mentioned above(hair like a fox) if you care about your hairline And it's free from Danny Roddys website directly.

I was a 20 year old NW5 back then and I thought this book would save me. Fellow posters on major hair loss board supporter Peat's philosophy as well.
Followed the diet to the T for 8 months and did I failed to experience any cessation in my shedding. All that milk and orange juice wasn't doing me any good either and I lacked any energy whatsoever to workout strenuously.
Danny Roddy has used big buzz words and lofty claims to promote his book. People have come to the conclusion that his diet would be temprarily beneficial to the thyroid and adrenal glands, but not as an effective treatment to combat hairloss. If you look at his book page today, he has dropped those same claims about hair regrowth and the book is now free to read as well.
I guess everyone is different, for me it helps and it's not "placebo" as I measured hairs lost. Also I kinda figured that it doesn't work for everyone, or at least not as effective as Danny makes it sound or everyone would be doing it.
Did you look into progesterone he recommends as alternative to fin ? While it is technically female hormone it does lower estrogen, inhibits DHT and increases testosterone.
Even Chris from GLL is reporting some good results: http://www.goodlookingloser.com/forums/h...mitstart=0

I've been following the Ray Pat/Matt Stone/Tom Brimeyer approach for a couple of months now.
I used to eat mainly muscle meats, eggs, nuts and seeds, coconut oil, olive oils, beans and veggies, rolled oats and quinoa.
I've thrown out the nuts, seeds, oats and quinoa; reduced the amount of muscle meat and veggies and added raw dairy, potatoes and 5-10 pieces of fruit per day.
I have more energy and sleep better, gained some muscle and strength (without working out) but it's not a life-changing breakthrough.
Expect to gain a couple % of bodyfat though.

^^I would certainly not try his most controversial and contrarian advice, like taking antibiotics to sterilize the small intestine, drinking soda and eating table sugar, constantly sipping orange juice, eating every 2 hours, ...
However, the basic premises of his diet appear very solid to me:
- "high everything" diet: high fat, high protein and high carb
- more saturated fat, organ meat, shellfish, (raw/organic) dairy, fruits, root vegetables, salt
- less poly-unsaturated fat, muscle meat, grains, water
The "Perfect Health Diet" by Paul Jaminet is based on roughly the same premises, without the controversy or extremes of Ray Peat .

I'll also second that Paul Jaminet's Perfect Health Diet is the best health book I've ever read. The man is clearly a genius. He is also even-handed and fair, and will be open about his level of conviction in different areas based on the available evidence, unlike most health "gurus" who often get very ideological and think that they know everything. Everyone should read it.
