columbus circle
bryant park
herald/greeley square
any starbucks near a subway

Washington Square Park during fall/spring NYU semesters

Some of the best spots are not the so called hotspots. I find that corners with subway stops and a Starbucks are ideal. Indirect in Starbucks, weather controlled. Subway stops for direct street approach. These are good places for posting up.

I have tried the following non hot spots recently:

77/78 and Lexington
168 and broadway for those Dominicans

I think you guys have to get Libertas over here. I do remember a while back reading about him approaching like crazy in NYC!
