Actually yes you fucking can... that is just another stupid rationalization being used to make themselves feel better. You look at her and can see she obviously doesn't look after herself and probably doesn't eat healthy and exercise. If somebody sees me walking down the street it's pretty obvious I must workout and eat healthily.

The thing about that is where I come from, I used to be at her level... I was around 130kg of fat and I solved it finally. If I had pretended and lied to myself that 'oh how I look being so overweight doesn't have anything to do with my health' I would have just been reinforcing my own issues as she is.
