Valerie claims that her aim is to show others that they don't need to be intimidated out of trying yoga because of their size. 'All of us have body issues whether you are big or small, but it's good to just take the time to look at yourself and just love it as it is now.'



In a series of stylish, ever-colorful yoga outfits, Valerie stretches her way to poses that even the slim-and-trim yogi would find challenging - showing that thin does not automatically mean athletic and vice versa.
She performs headstands, balances on a yoga wheel and even bends into the splits with ease in her photos, which have gained her over 80,000 followers on the social media site.



'My fans are surprised when I do the splits because I'm a bigger girl, but I'm just as flexible as skinny girls,' Valerie recently told Closer. 'Some poses hurt my wrists because I'm carrying a lot of weight – but I love chocolate and meatballs!

Come on, just admit that you love this Buddha-like Polynesian/Islander (I guess?) fatty who resembles an obscenely pliable giant baby, and also a goddess from some strange lost civilization, her face a mystical cipher of meatballs and placidity.

And I'm dead serious about how fit her poses -- especially that last one -- are to be a subject of public statuary. I would always want to walk by that coign of the garden where the majestic fatty is ever poised on her chubby hands in a state of concentration and repose.

Theres a part of me that almost wants to say "Well good for her, at least shes not laying on the couch ALL day." Fat people no matter how pathetic they can be need a life outside Oreos, at least this one took up Yoga instead of knitting.....But even though that small part of me wants to say those things, that huge part of me that is disgusted with people who let themselves get to that unhealthy unattractive obese size wants to say "Fuck off fatty!" and the latter part of me wins every time

I'd rather through that money into a shredder. I cannot think of a less worthy cause then to teach people it's ok to not only be morbidly obese but to be proud of it.

And it's not like she's a kid, but she doesn't have $4500 or can't take out a loan or put it on a credit card and pay off?

Apparently the image we all recognise as Buddha is actually of a completely different figure, from Chinese lore I think, with a similar-sounding name - Bodidharma, or something. Buddha was reputed to be very thin, or at least in shape.

I agree that there is something archetypical here.

No -- The fatty statue is not some knockoff fertility goddess. I KNEW someone would misread it as that!

What I have in mind is a hyperrealistic representation of that exact pose of the fatty poised on her hands, including the yoga mat (as I specified), executed by a confident and loving master. It is both a more purely sculptural idea, and a more spiritual one at the same time, LOL.
