First date: language barrier game advice
So I managed to pick up a date with a sweet Latina using what little Spanish I managed to scrape together in my former travels. Problem is, I only know basic spanish at best and she knows no English.. Anyone have advice for pulling off a date with an almost complete language barrier? I imagine this will be a little bit of a challenge but I'm up for it. My strategy is to use lots of playful/ non verbal game. I also have a translator app at the ready. This is in the USA btw.

Other strategies I plan on using are venues where physical escalation can happen non verbally, ie. Dancing.

This will be interesting and I'll have to report back as to open a new chapter in non verbal game.

What's she doing in the US if she barely knows any English?

Given the language barriers, you seem to be on the right track with the language app and focusing on physical escalation. Only thing I would suggest is something that allows constant movement and new things to see, like a carnival, a state fair, or museum. You go to something new [a painting, ride, etc], and just ask: Te gusta? And then just nod your head either in agreement or disagreement.

I really love how dudes come here for advice and members do the exact opposite by posting needless questions.

Sup swoosh, i'll chime in as one of my first teamers when I was in Mexico didn't speak any english and me no spanish. I've been on countless dates with chicks who spoke no english.

First if you know the basics that's all you really need. The few phrases you need if at all are "are you hungry" "what do you want to do next" "come with me" and "you sure?" oh and maybe "relax" as my teaser. I've always had my dates sit next to me in any restaurant and they thoroughly enjoy me "fake" trying to speak spanish. I'll tease them when the food comes, like I'm going to feed them then smear some on their face and escalate physically by rubbing their arms/hands while we eat. After I usually don't say shit and just walk around holding their hands until I get to a comfortable spot, park, outside starbucks ETC. I then go in for the kiss, if you've got the kiss you're pretty much golden at this point. She wouldn't have came on the date if she wasn't attracted to you, especially because you don't even speak her language.

I've actually enjoyed my dates when we didn't talk more than the ones with bitches that speak english. It's like you're just going off pure body language. Don't be nervous or feel you have to use the translator, she'll let you know somehow if something isn't right. Good luck!

Nice thing about Latinas is..they dont require to babble for hours on a date like an Américan girl. Some silence wont be uncomfortable for them.

After reading coverdoc's post, I think I need to concentrate on gaming women that don't speak any languages at all.

Turn down your English dial and you'll be fine. For example instead of "should we move to someplace else" ask "We go?" Chop long sentences up into shorter phrases and join them up with simple transition words like "and/or/but/also". Drop all the tenses and speak in present simple only. Use body language to supplement your expression and also escalate. Learn basic Spanish phrases and use google translate as a last resort and only for single words and phrases not entire sentences.

In short, everything coverdoc said. I do this in Russia all the time and frankly I feel better if the girl doesn't share a language with me now. Saves me the trouble of looking for words to express myself.

One time when I was still new at attacking Russia I spent an hour in a bar standing like a dick and chatting a girl up with Google Translate. After she left I realized how I made a complete fucking fool of myself. I got her number but ofc nothing happened. Rate your date like this: if you never used translate and still had a good time, you did well.

Edit: oh and drop irregular plurals too. No girl wants to hear why the plural of cactus is cacti.
Stress your syllables.
Substitute less common words with more common words, and words with less syllables. E.g. Off the top of my head, replace "queue" with "line"

I lived in China for a while. I met a couple of girls who spoke pretty much no English at all. It was incredibly tough BUT what a brilliant way to improve your Chinese or other language.

Ultimately though, if you're interested in longer term relationships then be careful. If you don't speak her language and she doesn't speak yours, it's so hard to spot red flags. And some of the Chinese women I dated had huge red flags in terms of mental health issues and family problems.

Stuff I've seen on my travels...
