Having 'The Talk' with my Son
OK, my first stab at starting a thread...
I've checked the search engines...nothin, nathan, nada....correct me if I'm wrong...

So next weekend, I'm taking my 11.5 year old on our annual pilgrimage to an NFL game...we take a long drive...eat like pigs..stay up late...tailgate...watch the game...long drive home...some good father/son time...

He's started puberty in the last 6 months...pubes are coming...skin getting oily...still bashful about girls but he has admitted that he 'likes someone' (not to me, but to my wife)...

He's got a MOUTH on him, just like his father....popular, gorgeous kid (takes after his Mom)...

I think it's the time to have "The Talk"...

Now, I never had "The Talk" with my Dad, and I turned out fine so I know it's not mandatory...My Dad is a serious Alpha, old school Eurotrash...

But i feel like I know SO MUCH about EVERYTHING that he's going through - to NOT impart a bit of simple wisdom about the basics would be a shame because it's 'embarrassing' to him...

Have anyone of you ever given your children 'The Talk'...?
To the young'uns here...Did your Dad ever give you 'The Talk'?
If so - please offer some advice....

I was thinking about doing it on the drive down to the game...
sideways conversation, no need to look each other in the eye....
Mostly a MEDICAL discussion...
Topics include:
Puberty
Erections
Masturbation
Wet Dreams
Porn
Relationships / Love / Sex / Making Babies
Virginity
Risks of Sex (pregnancy, disease)
Sexual Orientation
Sexual Assault
and the bottom line is that 'this is not a one time talk, it's an ongoing conversation that you can discuss with me anytime, anything.'

Just thought I'd put it out there to the Man'O/Dad'OSphere....
See what comes back...

RE: Having 'The Talk' with my Son
There should be a part 1 and part 2 of the talk.

Part 1 strictly medical. Understand what's firing and going on downstairs.

Part 2 should be the red pill.

Break these up so you don't give him info overload.

RE: Having 'The Talk' with my Son
That's good advice Beast...
Maybe Part 2 in a few more years...

Part of me really wants to give him that Red Pill chat now...
He said the other day, out of the blue, with this incredulous expression "I guess it's not possible to understand women??"

I know he wanted me to acquiesce with an AW SHUCKS and say "right son, you'll never figger em out" like I'm sure he's heard from his Beta friends, their moms, their pussy Dads, his wimpy teachers, or from the fucking Television....

But I said "Of course it is! Women are easy to understand! I know everything about them and how to make them do what you want!"...

My wife looked at me like "WTF"....

At 12 this was my dad's talk to me (old school Cuban player so you have to imagine it in a Ricky Ricardo accent)

PT's Pop: "So, son, joo getting any jet?" (translation: you getting any yet?)

12yo PT: "Uhhh...any what?" (I knew exactly what he meant)

PT's Pop: "Comong...joo know...poosy" (translation: Come on..you know...pussy)

12yo PT: "Uhhh...no" Said sheepishly

PT's Pop: "Whas samatter?...joo a maricon?" (What's the matter? Are you a faggot?/)

12yo PT: "Uhhh...no"

PT's Pop: "OK good...joo gonna like de poosy"

Just one of many things my Pops was right about.

Wouldn't necessarily recommend his style to today's dads though.

RE: Having 'The Talk' with my Son
This thread makes me happy RVF is here. Good stuff.

I had the talk, but my was Christian 'this is ok' 'that is not ok' sorta shit. I know you won't be doing that, but...

I'd say face it head on, add some humor, make it light-hearted. He's probably taking it really seriously, because he's horny as fuck and doesn't know what to do about it. Bring him up to your level. I wish I had more of that when I was younger, the light-hearted view of sex and jacking and all that.

I'd say you can't be too light-hearted about the subject, since it's still a *very* huge thing in his life right now.

1. Learn to flirt with girls.
2. Don't get a girl pregnant.
3. Too much porn isn't a good thing.
4. Girls are just girls. He won't understand this yet, but he'll learn eventually. Tell him that.
5. Don't get a girl pregnant.

Great name by the way. One of my favorite movies.

My Dad didn't get such good marks with "the talk" except for an A+ job at scaring the shit out of us about getting a girl pregnant.

He was like "you'll have to quit school, get a job, support her and kid and thats like 100 lawns mowed per month in money...do you want to do that? all to just feed some girl and a baby?!"

I will do the same except add, never trust a girl to take her birth control...they can't even show up on time...yet you expect them to be on time with their medicine every day?

Also, roll it in with real life stories...or at least real life made up stories "Remember your Uncle Rico? Yeah, the one in jail all the time...got a girl pregnant in high school"

and/or have him watch all of the episodes of "teen mom"...that shit is traumatizing.

Why do the heathen rage and the people imagine a vain thing? Psalm 2:1 KJV

There's one bit of hesitation I have to scare the kid about sex (pregnancy, disease).
I don't want him to feel scared like he's doing something wrong or dangerous. I imagine that this would totally fuck with his head.
I guess there's a fine line between scaring and educating.

The talk can actually be 'the talks.'

No need to rush things. Tailor the discussion to his current needs.

There's a great "Letter to My 21 yo Son" that's been around for a while (see excerpt aand link below...its long and I didn't want to post the whole thing here). If you are a father to a son and have not read this I think you definitely should.

Ironically yesterday was the 1 year anniversary of my father's death, and in his memory I gave that thread a bump. While he never gave me all the wisdom conveyed in this letter all at once, in hindsight cumulatively over the years he passed on this and more knowledge. Fuck.. I miss talking to that funny motherfucker.

I dont have kids but if I were to have a son I would definitely make sure he read this.

When in a state of lust a person makes all kinds of foolish and costly decisions for which there can be a full lifetime of regret. So, when hearing or thinking about that vague and all-encompassing thing called love that, most of the time, and certainly early on in any relationship, is really little more than uncontrollable lust, go slow. Go real slow when it comes to making commitments, or talking about marriage and having kids.

When in this lustful state, and with any woman, never fail—not once—to wear a condom (except of course when getting what every honest man cannot do without—a blowjob). Use one even if the woman is on birth control pills and swears she faithfully takes them, because the one certainty about all women is that they cannot be trusted, and least of all when they think they’re in love, which means they’re also probably thinking about having children. Your children. They will, literally, do almost anything to bag the catch they are sure they want and cannot do without—you. Never forget—as I did at your age—that if you get a woman pregnant it’s going to mean marriage, an abortion if you’re lucky enough to persuade the woman to do it, or a couple of decades of supporting a kid you’ll only see or be with on an occasional basis.

For those interested....
I had 'the talk' with my son this afternoon on the drive back from the football game.

It went TERRIBLY.

He was NOT having it.

Didn't want to discuss any of it with me.

A few giggles but mostly it was "STOP I DONT WANT TO TALK ABOUT THIS WITH YOU!"

Totally embarrassed and mortified.

That sucked. But whatever.

Well at least the topic is breached, it'll be easier to come back to in the future.

I never had 'The Talk' - I was left to my own devices to figure it out.. to be honest, kids these days learn fast and likely learn most of it from their social circle at school, especially now that everything is so accessible (smartphones, internet).

It's everything Redpill related that they don't pickup, that has to be taught.. because the education system will sell them a completely different narrative.

All my dad really said was akin to the "bustamove" in heartistian parlance.

"Look, if you are into a girl, you have to do something about it -- you can't just wait around."

He said that offhand during one of the rare moments when I mentioned "girls" to him, around age 14 or 15.

I still remember it to this day!

I'd start beating into his brain abundance mentality and the evils of oneitis early. From experience, being hooked on one chick (that I'd never get) in High School really held be back from much banging.

RE: Having 'The Talk' with my Son
I don’t have any kids but I have 2 16 year old nephews in the UK. This is what I said to them recently

Nephew A is starting a new school. “Go and sit next to the hottest girl you can find when the class starts. Never take any shit from a woman, if she acts like a bitch then move on to the next one, there’s plenty of women in the world”

Nephew B plays guitar in a school band. “Carry on playing the guitar when you go to college. Girls will approach you if you play the guitar. Buy an acoustic guitar when you’re at college and tell girls you’ll play a song for them when they come to your apartment”. He told me he played videogames for 4 hours the other day…”Use that time to work out and/or chase after women. It’s a better use of your time”
