I thought this would have been a good move several years ago and I still do if they were able to implement it correctly. I doubt that will happen though. To be successful they need to build a lifestyle of the woman chasing, scotch drinking international jetsetter.

Pornographic magazines, even those as storied as Playboy, have lost their shock value, their commercial value and their cultural relevance.

I warned of my suspicions of a Neo-Victorian Cult Of Sensibility emerging in Millennial Women; their Dismissive-Avoidant Attachment Styles making them uncomfortable with nudity and sex; and the related increase of Progressive Puritanism last year - including the fact that I could sense the fact that the party for us players was starting to come to a close.

Even having predicted all this, it still shocks me just how quickly sexual repression is spreading.

I'm surprised it's still around today. Even as a kid in the late 90s you can could find shots of playmates on the 'net and far more of them than were in their pictorials in the mag even.

I've been noticing these changes for a number of years now. You see it first in the media. Notice how nudity trends have changed.

You ought to start a thread on this subject matter.

As for Playboy, the magazine has been dead for years IMO. It was a cultural icon that has seen its time come and go. The last time I picked up a copy, I found it pathetic, and at the same time, I wondered why more women didn't try to get in it. The photos are so heavily edited, a girl could appear nude in it, and give signed copies to her brothers and father without causing any discomfort because nothing in the photos will have any connection to reality. It's so bad, most of the photos look like cartoons.

Truthfully I wouldn't be surprised if they started pictorials with guys or trannies.

I wouldn't call Playboy's pulling the nudes sexual repression so much as just being unable to pivot to the Internet properly. If you have a Net connection, you basically don't need Playboy. And it's not like the picture or pussy quality's been anything to write home about for the past couple of years. Sometimes the airburshing's been so bad you think you're watching a film through a camcorder.

Still, it's a shame to see Playboy end like this. I saw my first woman naked when I was 6 years old, thanks to a copy of Playboy under my dad's bed.

Regardless of what happens to this once legendary and iconic magazine. Hugh Hefner lived a life that none of us could even imagine. I remember as a kid finding some of my dads Playboys and just being blown away. Shortly there after I claimed Hugh Hefner as my idol and it probably helped shape my life. I have banged more girls then anyone I know back home in my circles.. or even in my town. An I have no intentions of slowing down at the moment. I was already preselected for this lifestyle I think. My Grandfather was a huge ladies man who was still banging hot 20 year olds in his 80s till he had a stroke. (at that point it was money game, but in his younger days he had mad game) My moms a slut... shes on her 6th husband. My father was a swinger... and ever since I was old enough to have a girlfriend I had 3 or 4. But the biggest push that lead me to pursuing a lifestyle of girls in excess was the more and more I learned about Mr. Hefner. I still have a 8th grade classbook? Whatever those books are that you put pics in and in the back answer questions. An in 8th grade I answered Where do you see yourself in 20 years with "Having a cat, dog, Lamborghini and 10 wives" and I listed my heroes as "Hugh Hefner and Schindler" An now here I sit in Serbia banging girls half my age... The traveling part I have Roosh to thank for. I was never interested in travel till I found the forum and read the stories on here of traveling and foreign women.

RIP Playboy. Even though its demise is ugly, I will always remember it for the beauty of what it once represented.

I'm with AnonymousBosch in that I think this shows a growing phobia towards sex and nudity among certain sectors of our society.

But I also think that Playboy's use of Photoshop and women with fake breasts and plastic surgery was its downfall. Here is a little-known fact: The magazine's biggest original bump in sales didn't come with movie stars who posed nude, but with photos of an office girl.

Men like to see sexy shots of women we might see everyday -- hence the explosion of "all natural" porn. Who wants to pay to see products of science? There was little that was natural about the women who appeared in the magazine after about 1995.

What Playboy should have after the Internet became popular was emphasize its glossy high-quality photos, which is something you can't get on a screen -- especially not a tiny smart phone screen.

If anyone wants to see how good Playboy could be in its heyday, Google a woman named Janet Lupo, who was a Playmate in 1975. Lupo was 100 percent natural, and I couldn't even imagine how good her photos must have looked on paper. Another good one from back in the '70s is Laura Misch.

It's a long way downhill from Lupo and Misch to whatever Hollywood Frankenstein creations they push on us these days.

I heard this on the radio this morning. My initial reaction was terrible idea, that's like McDonalds saying were gonna stop serving burgers.

That said after thinking about it for a while, Playboy is very tame these days compared to internet porn and all the other crazy stuff out there. Anyone buying a playboy is not buying it to jerkoff, they are buying it either to see some celeb naked if they are featured or for the novelty or to actually read surprisingly enough.

As far as this no nudity thing, though initially it sounds crazy they really can't compete with true porn these days and by going to a more maxum type publication they can be sold in more places where playboy wasn't allowed, they can even appeal to males in their late teens who maybe couldn't buy a playboy.

I can see this being great or disasterous but I think it has the potential to bring a larger audience if they do it right.

I never bought a Playboy mag, google image search was way more fun and all the pics were free.

Playboy was going downhill the minute porn was super easy to find online.

Playboy was a victim of the Internet but they couldn't really compete with websites showing thousands of different types of women doing all sorts to themselves and each other.

You have hardcore porn available to you 24/7 and you can wipe the trace of it with a few button clicks outside of Uncle Google storing your info. Mainstream porn magazines could just about show a spread-eagled woman showing off a nice snatch, let alone eating another girls ass on an office table.

I'm sure there men who can stand back and get off on those images but porn has made it harder to make that link. You demand more hardcore content.

No sexy nude women - WTF Over!

When I was poking holes in the ocean keeping offshore Rooskie submerged nukes from being launched against the USA by our adversaries while our families were sleeping - to keep us from losing our ever loving minds we had a smut locker - the 3 most popular mags were Playboy - high quality glossy pics of nude ladies with nice breasts and figures and smiles and women writing in to Playboy Advisor - filled with the kind of Girls Hef loved to bang and often did - better than the average scowling SJW woman... Getting an invite to the Playboy Mansion for one of their epic parties is still on my Bucket List.

Then there was Hustler - great inspiration for Gross Out contests... Larry Flint had one sick mind and paid for it.

Then there was Bob Guccione's Penthouse - same quality photography as Hef's mag but included both full tit and clit in high glossy glory...

Being stuck near a remote Sub Base we did not see women like that any where near the base except during summer beach season when the touristas were around - lots of SEA (SE Asian) boomer widows and fast attack 10 month plus deployment widows - what would they do - hang out at notorious Boomer Widow bars - phucking fugly married bar sluts with an 80% divorce rate due to long deployments - EFF the Hell out of That!

So suffice to say Playboy and Penthouse saved my life - saved me from marrying some beached sub base snorca mercenary boomer widow whale and taught me that there were mega hotties worth defending your country for and Penthouse and Playboy taught me how to hunt for them.

Turning Playboy into a soft mommy porn lingerie magazine catalog is just the ultimate in feminist female SJW agenda being applied to a once epic brand - Playboy was a lifestyle not just a photo review... With Hef heading into his 90s the Playboy lifestyle and brand has atrophied along with him.

Today instead of Playboy they would be called Playas or Red Pill Neomasculine men...
