Oceans 11 To be Remade With All Female Cast

The Hunger Games and Seabiscuit director Gary Ross will helm the project. Little Women scribe Olivia Milch was hired months ago to pen the script, which she has now turned in.

Ocean's trilogy director Steven Soderbergh, its star George Clooney and the late producer Jerry Weintraub began formulating an idea for an all-female version of Ocean's 11 last year.

"It's unclear how directly connected (or not) this remake/reboot/sequel/spinoff will be to the Soderbergh pictures, but everyone is keen on this new ‘Ocean’s’ project," The Playist adds. "Sources tell us Clooney may even cameo as Danny Ocean."

Can they not come up with their own ideas? First Ghostbusters and now this. Maybe they'll decide Mission Impossible or Die Hard need a redo next. What a joke.

Go ahead and make it. It will bomb. The ridiculous premise of an all-female heist crew could never work. The missions in the originals were implausible but not absurd. Imagine 11 women working together on a major heist without breaking into factions, being bitter at each other, and crying two days into it.

I just had a horrible spark of an idea they are planning more female reboots of great male-lead films.

Ghost Busters is going to test the waters and if it breaks even they will keep doing them.

Are there no new, innovative ideas and creative scriptwriters left in Hollywood?
Year after year we get movies based on already successful books, popular comics or established franchises.
Reboots, remakes, sequels, prequels, spinoffs, spoofs, etc.

Have those idiots ever heard of this thing called suspension of disbelief?
Eleven highly-skilled female criminals banding together to smoothly conduct a masterful heist.
How about adding some dragons or aliens, makes for a good mix.

What's next is a remake of "12 Angry Men". Actually, this may be one they can realistically pull off! "12 angry women" sounds like most women's networking groups I know :/

I remember working with this hot colleague at one company. She told me she used to go to some "business women's networking group", but stopped because she couldn't stand it. "Do you know what they talk about??", she said? I said "How to get ahead? How to support other women getting ahead?" She looked at me dead in the eye and said "They talk about how much they hate men. That is ALL they talk about!".

It will cost very little to make(likely 1/3 of doing a sequel of the recent series) and will be a box office success. Pitch perfect 2 was a box office hit and they already green-lit the 3rd one.
