HuffPost: 48 Things Women Hear In A Lifetime (That Men Just Don't)
Huffington Post has put out this video which supposedly exposes "80 years of subtle sexism in under two minutes."

Leaving aside the fact that these New Nuns consider telling a girl "You look so pretty" to be sexist (WTF???), I wanted to throw out a question here.

I'm wondering how easy it would be for people on here to create a list of 48 negative things that men hear but women "just don't." Hm. You think there might be some things teachers tell boys that might not be too nice? What about parents? What about girlfriends and wives?

I know it's not in men's nature to complain while women make entire careers out of whining. But I think this is an important subject.

Why? Well, according to the American Foundation for Suicide, back in 2013, 77.9% of people who killed themselves were male while 22.1% were female. Also, boys are far more often diagnosed with learning and emotional problems in school. And, if I'm not mistaken, looks like all those prisons are filled with men too. Wonder if all the guys who are locked up heard only positive talk while growing up.

If messages like the ones in this video really are affecting women so negatively, why is it our men are the ones who are suffering in school and/or life itself? Perhaps the Huffington Post people who put this together, Jessica Samakow and Oliver Noble, should think about that.

Here is the video. Try not to get physically ill when watching.

RE: HuffPost: 48 Things Women Hear In A Lifetime (That Men Just Don't)
Most of those 48 things are what women here from other women.

"Your biological clock is ticking"

Guaranteed from her mother because she wants her to have a grandchild and experience her daughter being a mother

"No one wants to sleep with a virgin"

Says her friend that is jealous of her purity because none of those weekend pumps and dumps wants to marry her.

"You're not having any children, don't you want to feel fulfilled"

See above about the mother

"Don't be an attention whore"

Friend is jealous that she gets more attention than her.

There are plenty of more examples but most of these are from other women. It's pretty well known that women are more cruel to other women than men are.

RE: HuffPost: 48 Things Women Hear In A Lifetime (That Men Just Don't)
They should make more of these videos and lists, so people can see how pathetic and privileged women have become. "You're pretty" is SO terrible - I just don't understand how these women continue to live on without slitting their wrists!

Here are a few male privileges I've enjoyed in my life that no woman will:
- Getting jumped and having to fight almost every day after school (I grew up in the inner city).
- Not getting accepted to a school in spite of my A+ grades, while a female (Hispanic) friend was accepted to the same school with far worse grades. This school gives additional points for diversity.
- Getting accused of rape because I wouldn't become a girl's boyfriend.
- Getting called retard and faggot in school by other boys until you learn to stand up for yourself. Again, getting jumped if you don't stand up for yourself.
- Getting passed over for jobs, then hearing how far less qualified women you know from college got the same job, even though they spent 4 years drinking and partying while you were studying and networking.
- Every bureaucrat in every government institution hating my guts because I'm a man (additional points for being white). I applied for public healthcare 3 times when I was unemployed, and each time my documents "disappeared." Finally one woman told me they probably threw them out because there is a budget crisis, and why would a healthy young man need healthcare anyway?

However I don't post youtube videos about the 100x reasons life sucks because all of these things taught me something and made me the man I am today. Right now I've done and achieved a hundred fold more than the average woman simply because no one cut me any slack or held my hand.

For example, growing up in such a violent neighborhood taught me about self defense and confidence. Getting passed over for bullshit jobs taught me to be entrepreneurial.

This is why so many feminists don't get why they aren't successful, why there is a pay gap and so few female CEOs, etc. They have so much privileged, that if anything doesn't go their way it's automatically sexism and the patriarchy. A man has to fight for everything he has from the day he's born, nothing is given to him easily, and so he learns what it takes to achieve something.

Oh, don't forget:

- The privilege of being near, passing through, or in a kid's playground and being eyed up by every woman as a paedophile or child abductor.

I didn't even noticed that dislikes outnumbered likes. The comments are also negative: "Somebody call a wambulance," ""You look so pretty" "Are you planning on working after you have a kid" Oh gosh the horror!" "Huffington post has just become a satire of itself."

Gee, this is really tough stuff compared to what a lot of us heard growing up at one time or another: Loser, dweeb, faggot, wimp, etc.

And then there's the "I don't date (fill in the blank) here)." I'll bet every guy has heard this, especially if you fall into any minority group, racial or otherwise.

All this and we haven't even gotten to student-teacher stories yet...

Get 2Wycked in here.

"I can count on one hand, literally, the number of women I have ever met that can take that kind of advice, accept it and make use of it without their epic egos setting metaphorical fire to the conversation.

Most women "looking for advice" are in reality looking for someone to validate their cosmic victimhood, because it's not really their fault, because it's never their fault. This behavioural trait isn't absent among men, but when we fail society cares not, while when women fail there is no shortage of comforting platitudes on offer from every vector.

Oh hey it's another "let's play the victim!" boo-fucking-hoo pity party video. Men deal with their own hardships (more often, privately) in life without having to shout it to the rest of the world.

Reminds me of some of the thin-skinned women I have to work with. Get over yourselves, you're not special.

I agree and think that this is why, no matter what, women will never achieve parity at the top end of society with men. Men will always be overrepresented at the highest levels relative to women, *because* they are also overrepresented at the very bottom end of society as well. For men, it's sink or swim.

Women complain about the glass ceiling above them yet seem entirely oblivious to the glass floor below them that prevents them from falling to the bottom of society (where men also tend to dominate the ranks). There is no floor for men. There is no societal fallback option because society could give two-shits about the men living under an overpass.

Women will always be handicapped in the sense that while they may want the success men achieve they will always be unwilling to risk the extreme level of failure that men face. They can always fall back on being a woman, and so the drive will never be as high.

My Aunt posted this on facebook. She's one of the most right wing people I know, loves Donald Trump, but every time some new piece of pohwhittlegirl clickbait comes around, she posts it.

I only made it about 30 seconds in and I heard several things that have indeed been said to me. But whatever... some women want to be victims, ok babe have at it.

One of my red flags from the "Your Red Flags" thread: "Can she read and speak out loud?"

Toss in the vocal fry and it's all downhill.

Thanks, video.

You just got me thinking that the message is actually closer to "Don't say anything personal to women, ever."

What this video is really saying is that you should relate to women in a strictly business sense. They're not people. They're empty shells whose lives are only given meaning by multi-national corporations. And to offer praise, criticism, or advice is to distract them from serving their corporate masters.

I'm not kidding here. Corporations are getting smarter with their marketing. They're using sociology to blind people.

Example: In their quest for cheap slave labor, corporations have helped expand the concept of bigotry by deeming citizens who actually want their country's borders enforced as "prejudiced." Imagine this concept 30 years ago.

Similarly, corporations and their media lackeys are expanding the definition of "harassment" to include any non-business interaction with a woman.

All of this is done by having politicians pass tiny little laws about this kind of speech or that kind of "harassment." They add up over the years and all of a sudden you fine society has completely changed.

You can sit and laugh, but I'm really seeing this. I came of age in the '90s and trust me, it's not the same country!!!

Your argument is pretty sound. The fact that they peppered the video with compliments- and acted as they were 'sexist' - shows that. Women are not 'people' they are autonomous robots and should be treated as such. Women are not to be criticized or talked about who they are.
