I don't know about you guys but my dick goes limp whenever I see a pretty girl with her hair pulled up into a bun. I've been seeing this 'fad' more & more lately.

So unfeminine and disgusting.

Disliking is one thing, but to call long hair up in a bun "disgusting" betrays some kind of unresolved anger you have with women. The over-the-top language is telling.

This thread reminds me of the "Can we agree as a forum that high heels are bad?" thread [EDIT: fuck, Suits beat me to it]. The OP is missing the whole point of the bun hairstyle, and that is the bun as a mild and tasteful handicap principle at work.

So how does that relate to buns and their supposed "unfemininity"? As Dr. Howard already mentioned, In order to make a bun, a girl has to have long hair in the first place. Only a visually impaired man could actually mistake it for short hair and be disgusted with it. There's an enormous difference between a little handicap like this:



And a huge handicap like this (actually cutting off your hair, not just arranging it in a hairstyle that makes it seem short), thus overwhelming whatever potential you had:



TLDR: A bun makes a girl look more beautiful because it's a very mild application of the handicap principle.

I think it can work. I prefer it with bits hanging down at the side (as in blck's gif just before the girl undoes it). The girl in the OP looks good like that too. Give me this over horrible short hair any day.
