Its employment opportunities are limited to seal hunting, logging, mining, remote oil rig working, whaling and restricted commercial fisheries (formerly a fishing giant). I clicked the link and started to watch the video of the firefighters. In the grandest sense of irony the commercial they played before was a pro-feminist career woman who "had it all" and came home at night to her child and "was a mother"

Typical case of woman using sexual harassment allegations to make a story explode through the media. No one outside of Newfoundland would have heard this story had the harassment not been brought up.

She was reportedly laughing at the 20-30 second porno clip shown after a slide-show presentation by a member of another communities' fire department (not the one she volunteers for) that happened years ago. She also alleges someone told her to wash a glove because the guy said he, "jerked off on it".

"Oh, how dare they make sexual humour! Where are the calls for feminism! We need more women fire fighters to combat this injustice! It's 2016!"

The real reason the men resigned: This woman wanted to be promoted because she claims she has more training (certs) than anyone else on the staff, and is thus trying to remove the Chief from head position. Yet, she lacks the support of her peers, the work ethnic, basically overall confidence in her abilities/personality to be promoted to Chief (i.e. everything you would want in a leader - leadership). She got into a heated dispute with a member of city council at a council meeting about the position, and the council member was...surprise, a woman! Ironically, these men quit because they were standing up for their town council member who was under fire from this "harassed" volunteer fire fighter who sucked at her job. She couldn't do the simplest tasks at her job (putting on her equipment properly) and was consequently tasked with handling traffic control instead of, you know, being a fire fighter ,fighting fires, saving lives, etc.

As we say it Newfoundland "Dats it my son. Dats women fer yah, by."
