*She* hates passive and weak men, and therefore assume that men should share the same disgust (because, you know, narcissism). It never occurs to her that where she sees weakness and passivity, we see gentleness, patience, and a kindness that makes for complimentary partner and a great mother. She could never be attracted to that, and so could never understand how someone could find it attractive. Because, narcissism. Or to the say the same thing in a different way, she lacks empathy, like most American women do.

Sorry, mate, I cook dinner for my boyfriend almost every night, and spend time reading before I go to sleep.
