Wearing a bear claw necklace (peacocking accessory)
Any forum members want to give ideas about wearing something like this? I bought a decent sized black bear claw and I am going to drill a hole lengthwise through it and run maybe like a black cord through it.

What are some other things you guys might be rocking in 2016.

I know there was an older thread about peacocking. But I found nothing about this.

I have seen people wear a shark tooth necklace.

Maybe wear this with an unbuttoned dress shirt and suit.

I wanted a grizzly bear claw. But they are expensive as fuck and a little too long. This is about 2.75" on a curve. Not really that long in real life.

What do you guys think of the Native American silver bracelets with a single bear claw?

I guess it would depend on what it looked like and what you looked like, as a man....your personal style. John Wayne wore copper Native American style bracelets in some of those old westerns.

I like the idea man. It gives you the Hugh Glass vibe, from "the Revenant".

I am currently wearing a Little 64GB flashdrive were I Keep all my written Programm, scripts, Journal, field Reports and essays. Wearing this during the day, I constantly remind myself of the value and work I've already done. I got a lot of complements for it, because People rarely see something similar.
Cheers.

I think its a leopard, not a bear tattoo. And why is he wearing shorts that 19 year old girls I creep on at the mall should be wearing? And why is every one in this pic a faggot hipster? Forum member General Stalin needs to step in and smack the ever loving shit straight up out these mufukas.

I think peacocking is one of those things that PUAs had so many tactics and they were running them at the same time, that they got confused what actually helped. Though I do think dressing better then other guys is important, but I wouldn't call that peacocking.

Regarding shark teeth jewelry, don't do it. There's a lot of men who find that offensive. I don't mean how saying offensive things like to gays or women, like commonly is spoken about on here.

Shark tooth jewelery can piss off people who hunt sharks. You usually don't want to offend them.

In hindsight OP, you should probably get something a bit more unique than a tooth or a claw. A lot of those are a dime a dozen. The necklace I own no one could imitate. I would try looking into having something like that made or finding one.

RE: Wearing a bear claw necklace (peacocking accessory)
I don't wear any jewelry besides a watch personally. That said, everything you wear just needs to be congruent with your style and personality.

If you're an alternative type like Russel Brand or have some kind of "rockstar" game going on then wearing lots of jewelry, piercings, a bandanna, or whatever else is probably totally part of your attire.

Long story short, if a bear claw necklace or whatever the fuck goes with your style and outfit then rock it. Something so particular may prompt an inquiry though. Would be a little lame to say "I just bought it like this" so be prepared to either agree&amplify or evade and redirect.

Conversation pieces with a cool/interesting story behind them are good too. I used to go fishing with a guy who wore a simple thin gold chain around his neck with two small gold charms. Mounted in them were two small pearly white bones. They were the earbones of the largest codfish he ever caught.

I like that doughnut necklace. I should wear it and just take bites out of it....mid conversation with people.

If some woman is offended by it, I could always fein being offended and say I am Native American and they are offending my cultural heritage.

RE: Wearing a bear claw necklace (peacocking accessory)
I have a bear claw necklace, I posted a photo here sometimes ago:

/thread-44641.html

IMO the same rules with wearing biker clothes applies here: you have to own it and it has to have meaning to you. If you are just wearing it for peacocking, thats too try hard.

I've been wearing it since I turned 20. In my country the old warrior/hunter custom dictates that, as a rite of initiation you have to go into the jungle and kill a wild animal to prove your masculinity. My uncle killed a bear when he was my age. He kept the paws and the claws, and gave each to me and my cousins when he deemed us worthy of a man.

I told the same story to girls and guys alike and I always have some oooo ahhh from it. Its usually the first thing people notice about me. Strangely because it has been such a part of me I dont even think about it, and thats what makes it cool. You will get a lot of attention from this, so you really really do need to feel as if its part of you.

My uncle wears a tiger tooth necklace, real tiger tooth. But he was a hunter, smuggler and mafia, and those things are also some symbols of status. You dont need to see the necklace to know not to fuck with this guy.

If you have a real bear claw, make a silver casing for it. Avoid gold. Mine is a silver casing with an etched dragon. It protects the base of the claw. DO NOT drill anything through it. Take it to a good jeweler.

"Peacocking" is such a lame tactic to try and get women. Wear the necklace because you want to, not because you feel it will raise your chances of getting noticed.

If you need to peacock to get girls, women, to notice you, you have bigger problems. But as the guy above said - if you wear it because you actually like the item, then go for it, because then it's a meaningful accessory/item.

I disagree. Peacocking could be anything from driving a dope car, to dressing well, to rocking a funny haircut like a mullet or rattail. Whether you like it or not, were all "peacocking". Its a natural part of being human.

I remember Dante Nero on his podcast saying he wore a necklace made from the rattle of a rattlesnake, and he would tell women that he was part Native American, and that the necklace was handed down from elder to elder and finally made its way to him. In his mind, he was thinking, "Ha ha bitch, got it at the five and dime."

I disagree with this - peacocking is dressing up to draw attention to oneself. Most people who drive a nice car, wear a nice suit etc...do it because it makes them comfortable with himself (usually).

Peacocking in the sense of it's use in this forum, is to draw attention to yourself in order to attract women, so getting caught up in the "oh we all peacock" technicalities is silly.

Wearing a goofy hat to attract girls is different than me wearing a nice suit because I feel comfortable in it, or like how it looks on me.

I'm not trying to attract girls with the suit - those who peacock to attract girls have other inner deficiencies that need sorting out.
