I was up in NYC the week before July 4th and went out one night in the Meatpacking District. I almost forgot about door policies because DC doesn't even have them. Almost everyone can get in almost anywhere and they don't filter when there are too many men in clubs.

Clubs in the MPD have fairly strict "must have hot women with you" policies and often "pick" their clientele. The most exclusive places have tons of hot women outside trying to get in!! You'll never see that at ANY DC nightlife spot.

I was also at Jacqueline and Current about 3 weeks ago. The ratio at Current wasn't too bad, but after 1am, Jacqueline was like 70% guys.

This is one of the many reasons why DC nightlife can suck. And this alone will keep away many of the city's hot women as they don't want to be surrounded by loser guys.

Now I know that the DC area has a lot of minorities and that much of the local white population avoid clubs in favor of bars and mayybe lounges. Additionally, maybe local clubs are afraid of discrimination lawsuits or just couldn't survive financially without letting in the losers??

The closest thing to a door policy is that if you are a hot girl, you will get in faster or not have to wait in line. But big groups of guys have no issue getting into clubs locally. There is no "you must bring hot girls to go out in DC policy".

There are still a few spots that have them, they are just harder to find. A couple in Georgetown, Adam's Morgan, and Dupont that I can think of off the top of my head.

DC used to have them.

I think you will find this happening in many cities that are not LA, MIA, NYC, CHI, LVS, SF.

That is why those cities have the best clubs.

Honestly there are a few places that have a 'list' but its not the same as a door policy. Most places you just have to go online or call to be put on the list. I think the only placed I've ever been denied into in DC was Josephine.
