On a recent episode of the Tim Ferriss podcast. The topic of conversation was Peter Druckers, "What gets measured, gets managed" business philosophy.

Tim's guest asked, "So what are the last few things that you've improved in your life, so I can get an idea of what's measurable?"

Tim shared the following story about his friend;

"I have a friend in his 60's. Very good marriage. Every quarter, his wife grades him on a 10 point scale in 4 catagories. father, husband, provider, and lover. What was so fascinating, and what I thought smart about how they did this, is that he doesn't have to maintain a certain ranking in each category. He has to maintain a certain total. So let's just say for the sake of argument that it's a 30 point scale, he might be traveling a lot for business, and not spending a lot of time on the phone or otherwise communicating with his wife for a given quarter, so he might have a very high provider score. 8, 9, 10. A very low husband score, and a low lover score, but he can make up for that, by being a good father. Right, really focusing on the father category. And that would ultimately give him the total number of points necessary to check the I am being, sort of a good version of myself for my wife and my family. So that's a simple, non-technical way to approach something like that, for instance."

Keep in mind Tim lives in San Francisco. Most of his friends seem to be venture capitalists & entrepreneurs in silicon valley.

So the long term marriage of his likely wealthy and powerful older friend, has been reduced to an employee performance review.

After hearing this story, I've concluded the following 3 data points for personal measurement;

1. Never live in silicon valley
2. Never marry American
3. If you can't abide by 1 and 2, for the love of god, game your wife.

Ha, what a chode.

When I first started dating my girlfriend, I'd occasionally give her girlfriend ratings. She asked why she never got higher than an A-. I told her there's always room for improvement.

I should probably go back to giving those out. Got a few blow jobs out of it.

I like Tim Ferriss in some ways, maybe I would have never found arrived at this forum, if I didn't hear about him first. However I see his updates and sometimes his blue pill ness annoys me. It's also hard to deny he's a little bit of a fraud as well.

One of the quickest ways to find out who has power over you is to ask yourself:
-whether they can grade/judge/give references to you and
-whether you can do the same to them

Examples of people with power:
-Your boss can rate your performance and give you references, but you can't do the same to him
-Your landlord can give you references, but you can't do the same to him in most cases

Examples of more fair system with mutual ratings/refences:
-Airbnb (mutual reviews and references)
-Uber (customers get rated too)

If the wife can grade the husband, but the husband can't grade her, that tell me all I need to know about that family and the so called man who put himself in this position.

- While I'm not some tyrannical asshole who refuses to allow my wife to have friends, she gets no more than one night a week with them, overnight trips (maximum allowed one a year) require significant forward notice.

Lover:

- Keeps her appearance in check as long as humanly possible.
- Anything I want I get - and as long as she doesn't want to put stuff up my ass or have me watch her get fucked by another guy this goes both ways.
- She's my wife - so no condoms...ever...
- At least once a day.
- Is STD free.

Other:

- Doesn't smoke, doesn't do drugs, seldom drinks.
- If she makes significantly less money than I do, she should be willing to quit her job to stay at home.
- Watches less than two hours of TV a day and keeps the kids to this standard (Note: I was just back home and all of my female relatives - even my sister working and raising kids, are up over 6 hours a day...disgusting).
- Keeps a tidy house but isn't excessive about it.
- Isn't on any prescription drugs (antidepressants etc,.) that mess with her head unless it's a matter of life and death.
- Isn't on social media, doesn't attention whore.
- Does not identify herself with her job.
- From time to time I like my space (don't we all?) so she should have a few hobbies to keep her busy.
- No tattoos and only pieced ears.
- Doesn't spend money on stupid shit - that's my money and her own money.

Two points each, each section out of ten (Other is one point each), how many North American girls could score even 20?

Imagine the outrage if this was the other way around, the SJW's would probably bring out the heavy artillery in the form of comments at the bottom of articles and a hashtag campaign on social media.

Amazing how much things have changed in the last few decades. If could go back and tell the previous generations that this sort of thing will be common place in the not to distant future, they would probably laugh at you. Yet here we are.
