Proof again of double standards...Chicago city council is slashing taxes on tampons and sanitary napkins because they are "medical devices" and unfairly targets women.

CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago City Council has rescinded a city sales tax on tampons and sanitary napkins.

Wednesday's vote followed a recommendation that was made without opposition by the City Council's finance committee last week. The items are taxed 10.25 percent in Chicago. The vote will remove Chicago's portion of that tax, or 1.25 percent. Supporters say the measure corrects an unfairness to women.

Tampons and sanitary napkins are now characterized as medical necessities to be exempted.

The tax on the feminine products has become a national issue, with at least seven states now considering legislation. Also, five women in New York recently filed a lawsuit arguing that the tax is unconstitutional.

In Illinois, lawmakers recently advanced a measure to exempt feminine hygiene and incontinence products from the state sales tax.

Rahm et al are still getting their cut -9%- but do you think they will lower taxes on jock straps and cups? Don't bother to answer.

Condoms unfairly target men and can be seen as medical devices to protect against bacterial infections. But I don't see Trojans and Skyns coming down in price.

I see nothing wrong in there.

Lose a negligible fraction of the cities income (as in "not my money actually") in exchange for a few votes and keep your cushy guvmint job and benefits. Claim that your administration is safer and fairer for women without actually doing something. Keep the blue haired crowd entertained and away from actual problems that you as a politician have no will or power to tackle.

Its a win-win all around.

Join the club mate. Everyday some idiot posts something which ends up on my feed, talking about patriarchy, misogyny or something similar. Some recent examples were along the lines of 'Watch out ladies, the law doesn't protect you. Look at what happened to Kesha'. 'Pro Rape Roosh v and his minions want to attend Pro-rape meetups in the UK', and some bullshit feminist type memes.

Like you the urge to post one of those funny but trick questions or a type a post detailing why the law isn't against women, or why being feminine is a good thing is great. The responses would be great

I give self help talks and "game" seminars as my current main source of income. I own an apartment in my hometown and rent a single room from a friend for a ridiculously low price in Mexico City so I have a place to stay there whenever I go, so my time is very much split between those cities with short trips to other cities. My expenses are low, so I dont need to make much to live by, so I use most of my freed up time to travel on the low, learn stuff on my own (im very much into DIY, so, for example, if i need a website I learn how to code and make it myself) and my other hobbies (For example, I recently started making custom guitar effects pedals for myself and friends)

I, however, want to travel farther and aspire higher and am a few years short of forty, so I want to have something built for when im older, so whether I find some one girl and start a family or keep on in my solo player ways ill have something to keep me/us through when it starts to become harder for me to do it.

One of the pivotal points of my plan is to switch my target audience from single males 24 to 36, to women 26 to 42. Why? I believe they would represent a more fierce, loyal, and supporting audience than men. And very importantly, they would spend more on the brand or bring more customers through likes or Facebook shares. And because I love being around women. I received so little attention as a child that I am compensating. I could just sit around women and watch like a kid watching bees build a comb outside his window all day long.

Plus, Ive seen the power of thw women niche market. A friend of mine has 1 million likes on Facebook and those are 97% women. And he rolls it with the tipi-top. Granted, he is the very man at what he does. So am I, but im selling to the wrong crowd.

So, as I am very meticulous in my plans, even down to things I think I might want to do in the future, I have been very careful of what I post online for years to avoid being attacked with it in the future as being "hateful" or "hate-speech" towards women. I still say what I want, I hold my mind and stand by my words. But whenever Im going to say or write something that will remain online I ask myself how could that be reinterpreted by someone bent on combing to everything I said 5 years ago to fuck me over with, and rewrite it until what I meant is evident.

So no, I would want to say something like that to provoke the different factions amongst my friends and watch them reveal themselves, but mostly I never do.
