This post is not intended to be a spam-based post. I want to repeat that.
Anyway, I've noticed over the past three years that the best doctors and dentists who I've had have all been men. I don't think that is a coincidence, given that women are prone to leaning on their emotions rather than logical reasoning. I had one dentist ask me if I wanted to get Invisalign for the purposes of self-esteem. (I mean, yeah, but they also shifted once I had my braces removed).
I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience.

Women can be very good or even better at repetitive, by-the-book and non-creative medical specialties like Diagnostic radiation, Gynecology, Family & Preventative Medicine, Anesthesiology or Optometry.

More dynamic, detail-oriented, artistic, case-by-case basis and skill focused medical professions that require independent thinking & split second decisions are primarily designed for the male brain and I'd never trust a woman in these specialties.

Like Surgery of any sort (Plastic, Cardiovascular,Thoracic, Ophtalmic, Spinal ... ), Emergency medicine, Psychiatry, Internal Med, Orthopedics, Dermatology or Urology.

Thats a whole lot of writing off there. I can't say you're wrong, as it's just your choice that you wouldn't trust them, but it seems like an extreme statement.

I've known and been under the care of excellent women for a couple spinal operations, ER, dermatology, Otolaryngologists and others. Great all around. On the flip side, I've had plenty of male doctors getting shit wrong and half assing it.

Unless I was seeking out care for testosterone for example, I wouldn't write off females.

From age 13-16 my dentist was a hot woman with incredible tits who used to get off on pressing them into me as she worked. Being that they were only checkups I can't account for the quality of her skills.

Other than that every female physician I have dealt with was an absolute cunt more determined to act authoritatively than provide a good outcome.

My experience has been rather frustrating. Female doctors don't understand my goals (weight lifting), fail to acknowledge certain pain / complaints, and tend to not take me seriously.

It's not particularly their fault. They deal mostly with diabetic boomers and obese people. I should instead go to a sport's med doctor for check ups.

Both of my parents are physicians and most of our family friends are physicians. God, most people I KNOW are physicians. I've been able to see the apex and the bottom of the barrel.

Some female physicians are true geniuses in their respective field of work. Though as in all things – like Anabasis said, there are certain fields where either men or women excel at. The problem with modern medicine and some specialties especially is the toll they take on the person itself.

Most surgeons I know are an extreme – either they are the biggest ‘I don’t give a Fuck’ – ers in the world or the most miserable bunch. Physicians specializing in internal medicine tend to be perfectionists. Psychiatrists usually have their own demons to wrestle with which led them to choose psychiatry. Family Care practitioners tend to be idealists that get easily burned out. Female pediatricians are some of the warmest persons I’ve ever met. Female surgeons tend to act bitchy because they compete in a mostly male area. It’s interesting to think about this stuff once you start. Especially how one can deduce to a certain degree the personality of a physician based on their field of work.

These are generalizations though and exceptions of course apply.

Though I’ll have to admit that I was surprised at the number of female physicians who aspire to become surgeons these days. Even in truly hardworking specialties such as Orthopedics or Trauma Surgery where I’ve completed my last rotation. I just can’t fathom how they are going to juggle such demanding work with a family.

Speaking of which I am reminded of an occasion when I’ve got to talk with female heart surgeon. 45 years old, boss, no marriage and without kids. She comes home to an empty lavishly outfitted apartment. As she said this a tear rolled down her cheek and she said, half mumbling: ‘I don’t think it was worth it…’ I think she forgot about me being there in that moment because she quickly wiped the tear of and resumed a stern demeanor. But she will never wipe away the memory of the situation that has been engraved into my mind.

Sorry for going Off Topic – I winded up writing a lot more than I had originally planned. I’ve had many positive and negative experiences with female physicians and dentists. It really boils down to the person itself and how they feel on that particular day. Same with male doctors.

I wouldn't even worry about it as most women don't go into specialized fields to begin with.

If your getting a major surgery then you're gonna request the best surgeon in your area which will be a man 99.999% of the time.

That being said, I had an out patient surgery done by a female doctor and she did a wonderful job. No complications, barely any scaring, and I was out the door within 30 hours. She even gave me my own personal room to recover in.

I never noticed it before reading your post, but yeah every time I've walked into a dental office it's a crowd of female clerks, xrayers, clipboard-holders and other workers.

Then I walk into the back and there's the lone male dentist ready to hoist me into the chair. This was in Thailand as well as America. Interesting. I think my first dentist in Thailand who took out my first wisdom tooth was female, though.

The only good one I've had was about two decades ago when I had a minor staph infection. Went to urgent care and had a VERY hot female doc who prescribed whatever and it cleared up the infection quickly.

Five or so years ago I started going to a practice run by a female doc. I chose it out of convenience. I don't have any special medical needs, but just do routine annual checkups. The practice is less than a mile from my job and on my insurance plan. I was shocked at the incredible turnover of docs and NPs at this place. They only have the head doc and one other on staff at any given time.

First year I had a female NP who sucked. Second and third year I had a female Pakistani doc who was borderline okay, though she literally had to consult her urologist husband about a simple question I had. Fourth year there was a new male doc who was awesome - Air Force vet who lifted - and I liked him a lot. Fifth year I got some hippy-dippy New Age SJW lesbian NP. All the women encouraged extreme overconsumption of health care, fought me when I asked for testosterone testing on routine labs, constantly lectured me about cutting meat and eating more plants, and bitched at me for drinking despite perfect liver/kidney health.

I finally got fed up with the fem-centric practice after enduring the appointment with the dyke SJW. Found a male doc the next town over. Not as convenient, but he's a great guy and seems like a good doc. Had an appointment Tuesday and after the quick exam and a fun chat (where he told me about how he got completely wrecked at a wedding with an open bar), he brought me back to his office to show me three of his custom pistols. He was going to the range after work.

Yeah, I'm going to stick with male docs.

Going to see a Nurse Practitioner was your first problem. They're just nurses who took a few online classes and due to the immense power of the nursing lobby are granted limited (or unlimited in a few states) rights to practice medicine. Not only is their training ridiculously subpar, but the caliber of people who go to nursing school is vastly inferior to those who get into medical school. You're paying full price for a discount product and the owner of the practice is pocketing the difference.

In general, if you want to choose the best doctor based only on outside information, look for the following:

1) He's an actual physician, not a glorified nurse.
2) He's an MD, not a DO.
3) He went to school in the United States, not some third world shithole or Caribbean island.
4) He's white or Asian rather than black or hispanic. Not to say that the latter can't be good doctors, but simply that you know for a fact that a white or Asian didn't get into med school with the benefit of affirmative action.
5) Male rather than female.

These are just hard and fast rules, if you had to choose between 100 doctors and had no inside information about any of them. The tall black guy isn't always going to be the best basketball player but you'd be a fool not to pick him first from a crowd of total strangers.

I totally concur with what he said. NPs have no substantial clinical training (WAY less training hours and intensity vs PAs and PAs just scratch the surface as it is) but because they were RN's prior, somehow that makes them qualify to play doctor. I will NEVER go to an NP under any circumstances. The nursing lobby is pushing for NPs to need a PhD to practice so they can be called "doctor" now. It's crazy.

I also judge doctors the same way Fast Eddie describes. If they are a woman and/or a minority, the bar is instantly higher for me since I know they got a ton of extra help to move forward in their careers. If I see a white male doc from a legit US school with legit residences, it's pretty much a guarantee he knows his shit and worked his ass off to get to his position. With a woman or minority, there is always the possibility they got a significant bump at every stage since high school not based on merit.

To answer the OP's original question:

I have had good and bad with both genders.

I saw a primary care female Indian doctor (probably went to some bullshit medical school overseas I bet) one time who kept blowing off my concerns/issues and talking down to me. Obviously, I never returned.

I went into the same clinic a year prior with the same concerns/issues but saw a white male who went to Johns Hopkins for medical school instead and he gave me what I needed with no arguing or talking down to me like I was a retard.

Now at a different clinic later in the year after that cunt female Indian doctor, I got ANOTHER female Indian doctor for a different issue and all I could think was, "Oh great, here we go again." But she turned out to be really friendly, knowledgeable, and understanding. I think she wanted to bang me though so that might have explained why she was VERY friendly. I've noticed a certain class of female doctors (not the save the world types) seem to really like me since I can talk their game/understand their career bullshit/be intellectual but also be a fun distraction from the medical world since I don't work in it.

I haven't gotten my medical doctor flag yet. I know they are nothing special but for the sake of getting the flag, I might have to go visit the clinic soon.

Let me break this down for you:

1. When it comes to my health, I don't fuck around nor care about entertaining being politically correct. I want the best and most competent person; I ultimately don't give a shit about the gender and/or race of the doctor if they meet the aforementioned criteria.

2. In the US educational and professional worlds, minorities and women get preferential treatment in both direct and indirect ways; largely at the expense of white males and in the medical world, asians males to a degree as well. Sometimes by significant amounts. If you dispute this, you are ignorant. This isn't an isolated thing but a long-standing overt legal and culturally acceptable thing to do; to discriminate against white and asian males.

3. Therefore if a minority/woman gets into the following good schools/programs/situations:

-Undergrad
-Medical school
-Residency
-Medical job

It is not an unreasonable assumption to say that he/she got a positive bump in the application process strictly due to race and/or gender. Furthermore, it is reasonable to assume that this likely occurred in all four of the aforementioned cases.

4. THAT MEANS in all four of the aforementioned instances, a potential white or asian male got denied/rejected strictly because of their race and/or gender despite having the stronger profile based on the merits.

5. Therefore, a white or asian male that was able to beat the unfair sexist/racist selection standards in all four aforementioned instances likely had such an overwhelming great profile that it would be all but impossible to deny this person. Ultimately, there is a strong probability that this particular individual is a VERY competent/knowledgeable doctor when its all said and done.

Why? Because they played the game for 10-15 years with a constant handicap during the academic/job filtering process and STILL was successful. I don't consider being a minority or woman a justifiable handicap; I do count non-merit based discrimination as a significant handicap however; which of course falls mostly on white males and to a lesser degree, asian males.

6. And finally: this is why the bar is instantly higher when I initially evaluate the competency of a woman and/or minority. I have to do it because the academic/job filtering system played favorites and rewarded sub-par people to appease politically correct bullshit. The filtering system actually engaged in both racist and sexist discrimination; particularly towards white and asian males.

And as I alluded to before, I'm not entertaining political correctness when it comes to life and death stuff like medical care. No one should. If you do, you're idiot and you got what's coming to you.

I've had just as good if not even better experiences with female doctors than male ones, but Croatia is (despite EU's work on changing that) quite an old school country where women get into medicine to work hard and provide for their families, not to play out SJW fantasies. No university quotas or positive discrimination that I know of here.

Being in the field, I'm not a huge fan of female doctors or dentists. That's not to say that there aren't any good ones of course but a lot of them do tend to be quite bitchy and egotistical. I also find that many of them lack empathy towards their patients with their egos being more important than doing what's right for the patient. While this is a big problem generally in medicine/dentistry, I find that the problem is more acute with females.

I think Black Night is 100% correct regarding affirmative action and female and minority doctors. Again this isn't to criticize all of them for sure since I've worked with some who were very good but for the most part, I'm just not all that impressed with most female doctors. Again, many of them lack empathy which is a nonstarter for me in this field.

Darknight, if you're so fucking worried about people being racist and sexist in choosing their doctor, then perhaps the whole affirmative action system should be removed and admission to med/dental school should be based solely on merit so any minority doctor will be the best of the best. You probably think that this concept of merit and performance is racist and sexist so we should just accept and be forced to choose shitty doctors because they look the correct way.

No one likes working for a long time to accomplish a goal only to then realize it didn't really matter and that the desire not to work, but rather have kids, reinforces their stupid choice to begin with.
