I've been in a relationship with this girl for a few months and it's really apparent that she has no long terms goals and can't see over the hill into the future. But hey, I guess other guys on this forum have made this clear, that women generally lack foresight. She's an account manager and has no other real goals.
I'm thinking about ending it with her and the only reason we're still together is that I've been working longer hours and I'm not gong to be able to go out and game girls like I did in college. It's nice being able to come home to someone who will do your laundry, clean the place and send texts with complete sentences.
I'm thinking about dropping her by the end of May, since I will have started my new job at that point and I've have more free time again.
Should I straight up tell her that I want out when I start my new job? Also, she seems to think she can work as an account manager forever and I, knowing that's just not true and realizing that the economy is changing, should I try to push her to get some sort of better opportunity?

No, you don't let girls know you're going to dump them. You either dump her or you don't. It's not a situation where you need to give two weeks notice and worry if you'll be sued for wrongful termination of a relationship.

Don't think she's going to just go along with your plan to be dumped in a month. Regardless of which way you go, you're going to get drama when you dump her. This plan of pre-dumping her is going to give you the same amount of drama plus an additional month where it's going to increase exponentially.

Her career is not your responsibility, so no you shouldn't push her to do something else. You're already giving her enough reasons to be angry at you, criticizing her career will not help your situation and it will only help her if you're right (maybe) and she listens (unlikely).

That's partially why I ask about the career stuff for her. I do want her to do well and I've given her plenty of tips on how she can excel at work. She works with a group of other recent grads, women, of course, and the fact that I can articulate things for her logically has really, really helped her push her business on store owners. I'm slightly worried she get fired without my help. She hardly an idiot, but, again, she has no foresight and seems to think she can call and chat on the phone forever and get paid for it.

To answer your question, the sooner you dump a girl you know you're over with, the better.

Just sit her down and tell her, if you know she's a stable chick and can handle a face to face convo.

You are not responsible for her career. If she's going to make mistakes, then let her. That's how we learn, by making mistakes and then feeling the pain of those mistakes. So until she learns that her actions or lack of actions have consequences, she's not going to listen anyway.


My non-expert opinion on account managers is that it's a job that will be there as long as businesses exist. If businesses cease to exist there won't be other jobs.
