RE: How to stop being negative?
I use the internet like a fucking addict now, but I'm in the East and moving back West soon, too… and when I get back West, I actually plan on living without any electricity whatsoever so that I can save money to get back East quite quickly. I imagine having no internet and TV (and thus no news) will help me zen, to be honest.
I've been getting fed up with the world, too, just like the OP. I've decided to stop caring about much of it, and I've had this no electricity life-style idea floating round in my head for some time as a response to the world's fucked-in-the-ass-ness. Perhaps you should try it, too. All you need to be functional is a land-line telephone in your home for your work to call you on (which doesn't require electricity). Everything else is modern luxury you can do without, and will save money if you can do this.
Good luck, whatever you choose.

RE: How to stop being negative?
Have a concrete goal and a plan to achieve it. The goal should be something you really want to reach, and you are willing and determined to put the effort and resources (your time, your money, your attention, etc.) to get there. After knowing what your goal is, you delineate how you will achieve it; this is your plan. Your plan will include a multitude of small goals. You will now concentrate your daily efforts in knocking down all the small goals one by one. Channel your energy towards your goals and focus less on the things that piss you off. I suggest that while you are in the West, you do this.
"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects."

RE: How to stop being negative?
I recently read about a British guy who was 101 years old. He not only walked without a cane, he ran 100m and 60m sprints against others over 90 and I believe held the 100m record in that age bracket. On top of that, he owned a business and was in the process of starting several others. He had settled down somewhere in Switzerland where he really enjoyed living and he would know - he's had more than 80 adult years to explore the world. While I can't speak for his sex life, I can only assume someone on this forum would make the best out of that situation.
Now, Muscless, I have no idea how old you are and whether you're currently achieving your goals in life, but if this guy can be North of 100 years old and live a lifestyle that many of us here on this forum aspire to live, how can you not be positive?
Fuck whoever is on TV spouting bullshit. Fuck ugly chicks (or not, you get what I mean). Fuck your fucked up country and its politicians. None of those people are gonna be sprinting 100 meters or starting businesses when they're 101. But if you dig down and focus on developing your health, creating value, and forming relationships that fulfill your needs, you might very well be doing just that for the next 50-80 years.
Life is good and if you play your cards right, you can make it good for a very long time.
Losers always whine about their best. Winners go home and fuck the prom queen.

“I have a very simple rule when it comes to management: hire the best people from your competitors, pay them more than they were earning, and give them bonuses and incentives based on their performance. That’s how you build a first-class operation.”
