Which online payment processor to use?
I'm gearing up to sell ROK t-shirts using Open Cart software. I don't want to put all my eggs in one basket with Paypal, so I'm looking at alternatives, particularly Authorize.net and Stripe. Anyone have experience using a processor in a web store type of environment?

I have used some south american specific ones and Paypal and Stripe. I would recommend Stripe for your additional one. I received payment very quickly. Exactly the two days they said it would be. Also, there is some agreement with Apple Pay and Stripe so I think you automatically get Apple pay capability.

Braintree - now part of PayPal. It's good.

Stripe. Is the best one in my opinion when weighing all the factors.

With as much ire as your draw from certain groups, I'd think strongly about getting an offshore processor. I use one in Hong Kong. The rates are a tad high, but it's worth it being free from Uncle Sam.

I've been using stripe and I like it. No issues so far.

Paypal likes to freeze random accounts. Use Shopify + integrate with Braintree/Stripe.

RE: Which online payment processor to use?
I"ve used Authorize.net, in the past not a very enjoyable experience. Currently using Stripe in conjunction with my Freshbooks account, and using Braintree with another system that it integrates with Braintree would be the least expensive in my opinion and not so difficult to work with. Authorize.net is a huge pain in the ass.

I'd like to echo the sentiments that Stripe is the most appropriate payment processor to run a business with high volume transactions. Paypal, on the other hand, is fond of limiting accounts 'at their discretion' -- mainly to freeze funds, which artificially increases their stock price.

Stripe and Braintree are both good.

Stripe's a bit easier to use and a better developed API.

But they too have somewhat of a reputation for arbitrarily closing accounts.

Ask me how I know.

RE: Which online payment processor to use?
Use all of them in a split tested fashion. When paypal suddenly bans you because "OMG Patriarchy" you can easily reroute the paypal traffic to the page featuring other processors.

RE: Which online payment processor to use?
Use whichever ones integrate best with your system.

Are you using zapier? Some processors integrate with zapier, some don't.

This way you can automate a lot of functions like followups, etc. Great for bookkeeping as well.

I don`t know if what you`re looking for is a kind of online bank. I use Neteller for my online transactions. Pretty solid service, good customer care and rates are not too bad. You can even ask for a physical card fro 13 bucks.
