For me salsa music is a controversy.

I really like dancing salsa it's a great way how to meet girls and deepen their attraction to you, at that dancing moment salsa music sounds appropriate and fun.

But outside of dancing venues salsa music sounds very annoying to me for some reason, I dislike it.

Outside of venues which cater specifically to the salsa culture, I say it actually isn't a great way to meet girls. Few girls who aren't serious salsa dancers have a clue how to dance it. All other kinds of latin music are good ways to meet girls as many more girls know how to dance to the other kinds of music. It is baffling to me, though, how many people struggle with bachata. For me, it is by far the easiest type of latin music.

Salsa is my least favorite type of latin music, but I like Niche, the early En Klabe stuff (very few people have heard of En Klabe for some reason), Eddie Santiago, and Frankie Ruiz. Kind of a mix of old and more recent.

Where I live there are no other latin dance venues - you may have bachata or merengue evenings in salsa clubs, but salsa is the main codename for pretty much any latin type of club you can encounter.

Overall, it's rare that a latin nightclub plays more than 40% salsa and there used to be more places that played more salsa. Places that have a salsa night, a salsa band, or a salsa class earlier in the night are the exception and those places tend to play more salsa, especially on particular nights.

In the D.C./Baltimore area, the only place I know of which plays mostly salsa every single night is Habana Village and I just found out that that place is still in existence. There are multiple places with salsa nights in the area, but every other night it is mostly other types of latin music or simply non-latin music. Cancun Cantina on Sundays has a latin night which is under 40% salsa. Latin Palace is also under 40% salsa. All Langley Park places are about a third salsa or not even that.

In South Jersey, the only longstanding latin club (many others have come and gone) is Cuba Libre, which plays no more than 40% salsa. They play really good music there, but the dance floor is really small. Philadelphia may have places which play mostly salsa every night, but I've never seen one.

In Miami, the old Cafe Mystique was mostly salsa. I haven't been to the new one, but I heard that it isn't that great. They probably play mostly salsa there. That was the only Miami venue I have been to which played mostly salsa every night. There are, of course, places in Miami which have a salsa night or salsa events. Bongos, which closed, played under 40% salsa inside and probably 50% to 60% salsa outside. Outside and inside had two different D.J.'s.

I've never seen a venue in the Dominican Republic which played mostly salsa and few people there know how to dance salsa.

Callejon de los Rumberos in Guadalajara plays mostly salsa as does Salsanera in Playa del Carmen. I think Salsanera has more of a mix of music than Callejon de los Rumberos.

There are some Manhattan venues, especially those with after work events, which play over 50% salsa. Those places are pretty good all around.

Brings back a bit of sweet nostalgy. My introduction to game and progression in game was simultaneous with that of salsa. I used to go out dancing 5x per week, met plenty of girls and had all sorts of experiences.

While I LOVE salsa dancing, the music simply doesn't do it for me. And you can't dance if you don't like the music.

These days I'm more of a bachateros. Bachata is getting much more popular in Paris these days due to its sensual style. Lots of wannabe players there. I only dance salsa with my girl friend, whom I met at salsa...

Girls who do not dance are great for gaming. Girls who are heavy into this Latin stuff, keep as FWB if possible, and learn well to sort out the cockteasers.
