Headed to Europe in a few days and Mallorca is in our plans. Headed there with family to relax and enjoy the sun and sand, but will want to party and celebrate the occasion at nights with my brother. Can someone provide tips on which hotels/resorts to stay in and which areas of the island are for partying? Specific names of hotels and nightlife spots would be appreciated!

Also, please advise if this is a viable option: staying in a more secluded/peaceful hotel away from the main nightlife action (that will appease the family) and be able to get to nightlife every night without a lot of difficulty? Basically I am asking if the island is too big to do this, or whether everything is within 10-15 minutes car ride ...

I am also considering taking a ferry over to Ibiza to stay for 1-2 days.

Avoid Mallorca. Go to Ibiza or Salou.

The reason there is no Mallorca information on this board is because it's a tourist spot for mostly British people on package deals, and not somewhere for the international player set.

You may want to just try a regular old guidebook. Show up and start asking hotel staff about the scene.

Agree with Roosh. If you want nightlife...Magaluf is the main area of the island. Go there and you can't go wrong. This is where all the British and German tourists go to get sloshed and go wild and lose their inhibitions basically. This type of place does not appeal to me personally and a few of the posters on here.

However if you've booked your flight, then going there is your best bet..it's on a par with European resorts such as Ayai Nappa (Cyprus), Zante, etc, etc, i.e. sun, sand, sea, sex mostly full of British and Northern European tourists.

Santa Ponsa is another town in Mallorca with similar nightlife to Magaluf, also it has a nice beach.
