I tend to be a little bit picky at least in respect that I have to be able to get an erection to follow through with the lay. I have no pity for this kid or those like him. Furthermore I don't buy this narrative of how all or nothing the American dating market has become. The real problem is guys lacking enough masculine presence and basic social skills to make things happen and too many guys pricing themselves out of the market (mostly cause of porn)

I don't know.... there can be quite a bit of pressure to score, and when a guy is younger (I certainly experienced the pressure and the difficulties), he might be kind of lost in terms of strategies and in terms of trying to win over girls sufficiently and get her to do the dirty deed.

I can definitely relate to a guy who ends up settling for a lot less in order to merely be able to assert to have had the experience.

Celibacy is honestly a better alternative to dumpster diving. It doesn't feel good on any level and this is coming from someone who has done it. It won't make you feel any better or more confident, in fact you'll feel worse that you had to go that low. You probably had to be seen in public with the person you're dumpster diving with which will make you feel even worse. This is not to even mention the potentially life-ending risks that come with having sex with a stranger (STDs, false rape accusations, gotcha pregnancies, and on and on). Do you really want to deal with those risks as the consequence of a dumpster dive?

In retrospect, the whole sets of experiences can be quite individualistic and weird, and guys consider the matters from different angles.

I recall in my teens, like 15 or so, getting some light action with chicks and then being obsessed with the experiences, and imagining ways that I could have potentially got the situations to have gone further and where I had made mistakes, etc., but then I would get into another situation and make very similar mistakes.

Then I recall that soon after I started working (and I was away from home)... maybe I was 18 or 19 years old, and one of my colleagues at work (who was about 22 or 23 years old) asked me, which girls I was into and which ones I wanted to "get with." I didn't really have an answer for him, and I was kind of thinking that he was a bit deranged in his one track pussy pursing mind because at that time in my life, I was feeling so new to the adult world that I did not really feel like I had much control over anything, including the pursuit of pussy.

I guess part of my point is that each of us likely goes through stages in which we are learning but sometimes we may be distracted by other things in life too, and at the same time, once we get some of these various experiences under our belts, we start to feel much more comfortable and confident regarding how to approach similar situations that come about later, after we have had the experiences that help to better frame our thinking.

Sure, each of us can chose for ourselves how we want to proceed, and you can choose to place these kinds of limits on yourself; however, to me it seems that framing the experience in such a negative way causes you to deny certain realities and needs of guys. Sometimes the circumstances may be better to have the banging experience or whatever other making out experiences than to have walked away from the situation.

Shit I really feel sorry for this dude, mainly because he reminds me of myself.

Granted I've never sunk that low, but I look back on my first time and regret the girl I was with.
